Insert a Link on the User CP
 

I'm rather new at vBulletin. A client wants me to add a script I wrote to his vbulletin board. I'm wondering if anyone here could give me some tips or point to some tutorials or part of the instruction manual on how to do the following:

(1) Add a link to the User CP under the Miscellaneous Section (I already found where to do this in the Admin CP with the Styles and Templates, but how would I go about adding a new phrase variables?)

(2) Create a new blank "module" which appears in the body I can just insert my script into. It doesn't necessarily need to use any special functionality of vbulletin or access the db, except perhaps retrieving the first and last name of the logged in user (not a necessary feature, though).
