How to go about upgrading to 3.5

Hi there,

what is the best way to go about upgrading to 3.5 if you have a number of hacks, please? Is there a recommended way of going about things .. would one be able to create a new folder on your forums do all the work and upgardes plus hacks .. etc

I am wanting to know what you would consider the best procedure to be, please?

Set up a test board in a htaccess protected folder called testvb and hack it to death. Then use impex to transfer your users, posts, etc and rename the folder to forums or whatever you want and remove the htaccess and delete the original forums directory.
