Expired Timer

I do not know much about writing code. I am looking for a timer that would say Coupon Active or Coupon Expired after you set it for a certain amount of days. After the days are over the Coupon would go to Expired. I want it to go in the thread posts under the individual post, so it could be in html format. I want it to go expired after each individual coupon expires. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
