Can anyone recommend a good IRCD server software?
 
I'm looking to install and host my own mini IRCD service with a IRCD host, but am not sure which software package to install

Any personal recommendations?

I'd need one that allowed registration of members

Unreal IRCD is very widely used. Make sure you check first if running an IRC server is allowed by your host.

depending on what kind of network you wish to use...

if you want to create a undernet-like server, goto undernet.org and look at the docs on how their own servers are built... same for the other networks...

Shadows/Unreal are the most populars actually, because free... but some professional servers are quite more efficient, but cost a lot.
