vBulletin also allows you to setup automatic usergroup promotions, so that users who meet specific criteria are moved into or become a secondary member of another usergroup, generally with greater...

The only problem I have with promotions is. I have 2 forums one call A the other B well some members only want to view A some B some don't want to see it at all. Say member #1 reached the post count to be promoted, how would the system know to make that member only see Forum B? What i did was create 2 groups Group 1 and 2 make them public groups. Group1 if you join can see Forum A and vise versa. I set a 100 post count to see the forums. This way not anyone can register and Join the group then see the forum.

An easier way? I don't know. :ninja:

O know I can create a group and give permissions only to that group, but what happens when the normal user reaces the post limit and becomes promoted, and they don't want to be part of Group A they want to be part of Group B or they don't want to be promoted at all..

Hell I am confused..LOL

Promotions are based on usergroups. A user must be member of the usergroup you define to make the promotion work.

So create 4 new usergroups:
- Group A Candidate Member (Public joinable, no permisions yet)
- Group A Member (setup promotion from Group A Candidate Member after 100 posts, full permissions)
- Group B Candidate Member (Public joinable, no permisions yet)
- Group B Member (setup promotion from Group B Candidate Member after 100 posts, full permissions)
