Lost the ability to send emails from forum software.

It's been brought to my attention that "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation" are not getting their emails to activate their accounts. I had about 20 different members that never receivced an email to activate their accounts.

I've also noticed that I haven't been getting any emails from my server to notify me of new posts. I'm not sure what is causing this problem. Is there any way to find out what's wrong with the part of the system? Is there a "bug checker" or something that can pinpoint this problem?

The last thing I want to do is lose members due to stupid things like this.

(Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section of the board, please move if need be.)

Thanks for your help,

Joe

Moved.

You can use AdminCP->Maintenance->Diagnostics->Email to do a first check.

I tried that this morning, and no emails were sent out......now what?

Any error messages?

No errors were returned while attempting to send the email. Check ******@char***.net shortly to confirm you've received the email. If you don't receive the email, try sending the test to a different address. If that fails, check your mail server's configuration.
Nope, this was it........

And I sent out to three different email addy's

Then it is very likely to be a server configuration issue. I suggest you post your question at vb.com.

PS It might help if you enabled public viewing of PHP-Info and post a link to your phpinfo page.

How would I go about doing that?

AdminCP->vBulletin Options->Server Settings and Optimization Options->Public phpinfo() Display Enabled
