Small problem with external login

Hi,

just converted to vBulletin and love it so far.
I integrated a small "external login" script in to the other pages of our website and it works just fine.

Only problem is, it doesn?t work on the forum pages.

The "hack" is fairly simple, i have the following lines in the header of every external page

chdir("forum"); 

require('./global.php');

chdir("forum");

Then, in the (also included) menu, i just ask

if ($vbulletin->userinfo['userid'] != 0) {blah}

So far so good, in the forum, the above header is of course not included, but i still use the same old menu. It just seems i have no access to "$vbulletin->userinfo['userid']" at the time the menu is loaded, so it just always displays the login form.

I'm working on the same thing --
When I print $vbulletin->userinfo['userid'] -- I get

Array['userid']

I tried to search for the answer, but search seems to be broken :(

ok -- vbulletin.org is acting strange !!

ok -- this is funny --

I did this in PHP

$who=$vbulletin->userinfo['username'];

Print "$who" -- and it works...

but print "$vbulletin->userinfo['username']";
just prints Array['userid']
