sorta a worthless hack then, and is now, well.. depending.

Are all of your staff in a specific group? or in the same groups? (eg mods are in group 6 admins 5 and smods 7?

Just use the ranking system.

yeh well i have mods and super mods and admin and diablos i jsut love that hack and also im having trouble with the color usernames so i think this hack will do the job if any one can put it together for me it will be awsome and appriciated.

Why would you hack in features that already exsist?

You have styled usernames by groups
You can make a "staff" icon appear by usergroup via ranks or even a template edit.

Don't add extra code when what you need is there.

Actually I would like this too. I use the Ranks for something else (a contribution system) so I would like another "if in this or this usergroup (admin or mods), show this icon" but I dont know how to do it :) not a php guy :)

Just use the ranking system and make the ranks user group specific.

in the templates

<if condition="is_member_of($post, X)">

Change x to the usergroupid you want to display a rank image for and add your own html.

The ranks override the custom usertitle though. So if you use like a store and have titlewars or something, then your SOL for using the ranking system.. correct?

Also, the if condition is great.... until you have about 20 different ones (which I do since I run a clan site) and then it's just a messy bundle of ugly code ;)
