Restrictions
 

Not sure if this is the right forum or not, but here goes...

I've been having trouble keeping banned members away, they seem to signup under different names over and over, and yes I've banned their IP's as well, no luck. I was thinking that maybe an idea would be to restrict access for newbies when they first join. For example, have it so that when a person joins, all they see is my "Rules" forum until they finally post, then they get moved to a different usergroup where they see more forums. This can go on and on until we've learned enough about that member and feel that they're worthy enough to participate in the rest of the forums.

It's just an idea, but I'm just trying to figure out ways of keeping the idiots away from my forums as much as possible.

Any suggestions? I'd like to know, what are some restrictions you guys have implemented on your forums? Does everyone get to see ALL the forums? Or do they have to earn that privilege?
