Include Exclude forum/section
 

Hello, I run a support forum and something has come to mind on several occasions over the past years.

There are many times when I wish there was a way to exclude a forum or section from the "new posts" feature. But it would be nice to have a link on the menu to show all new posts within a certain section despite that exclusion.

For ex: If we have a section called "Project Showcase" normally we would not want WIP's to come up in the general support forum up front but it would still be nice to do a search for whats new seperatly though.

Does anyone know of a hack or mod that might be able to do this? - if not would someone consider making one?

I have play'd with this hack a bit, but I was not able to search=getnew for a forum that was excluded, exclusively though. Unless I missed a few tips on customization within the support thread.

Additionally this is a per user setting, I don't think its as useful as if it were a forum wide setting. Where a forum of forum section would be excluded from registering new posts than a per user setting. It gets messy when you have many usergroups and /or subforums.
