ok what is this for i see it in the config is it for a backup like a second data base or will it make vbulletin work faster because i have a second mysql thats the reason i am asking and can you set it up if you been running a forum for a bit...

THis is for those that have a seperate server for the MySql Server program. This usually indicates you are using two dedicated servers or such. One for HTTP and another for MySql. If you had this, you'd know.

You can ignore this on most installations on shared servers. That's not to say a shared server can't have a seperate DB server, but it's not the norm.

the hosting company give you the option to have 5 databases that you can pick any one of the 16 mysql database servers

so would it be worth doing ...
