Using paid subscriptions with ibProArcade for vB

vB 3.0.3

OK, before anyone flames me, I have no intention of charging users to play games in my forum!

I am considering a voluntary 'donation' (via the paid subscription system) to fund server costs. This will afford users several advantages, such as:
  • Larger avatar limit
  • Larger PM inbox
  • Larger attachment limit, etc, etc
  • Greater (daily) number of plays on the arcade games

The first 3 are easy enough, but I am having problems with the latter, and just wondered if anyone had done anything similar.

For 'subscribed members', I created a secondary user group with their default usergroup forum access, but tweaked the above settings for avatar, PM inbox etc.

The problem with the arcade is that if I set (In Admin CP/Arcade) the default (Registered Users) to have, say, 20 plays per day, and the 'subscribed members' 100 plays per day, then the default amount is obviously the prevalant one... and users who subscribe are still only allowed 20 plays per day.

I've posted this in here, rather than the ibproarcade thread, as I think it relates more to the subscriptions that the arcade itself, hope that's OK.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Make sure that the Primary usergroup have 'Can have Membergroups' set to true.

Thanks, I'll try that. :)

Edit: I just checked and it's already set as that. I'm wondering if this is a small problem with the arcade after all.

ibProArcade just checks the primary usergroup, so what you set in the Arcade-Permissions is only for the primary group.

I will check if the next update (ibPro 2.5.4) will also look the secondary usergroups :)

this will help me too as i would like my users in the secondary usergroup to have a bigger choice of games to play. does anyone know a workaround i can do for now so it checks the secondary usergroup too for permissions
