Usergroup Merge Privlages For Threads

We currently have a usergroup we would like to allow to merge and delete their own threads within a certain forum. Ive found the option to allow them to delete thier own threads on a paticular forum but not to merge them. Im guessing some type of hack would be needed to do this and would appreciate of someone could tell me how...
