AJAX login?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had success in modifying their forums to process the login without reloading the page?

I'd like to also have this option on a non-vb page as well, but my javascript is a little rusty, and I'm not sure where to start!

Would be nice to have.

When you login to many things change to have an AJAX login as vBulletin works now, take into account reloading the forum display(hidden forums and so on) the entire navigation area including getting new PM's and other areas of the page may be permission based and so need reloading :)

I don't think it would be worth in right now.

Thanks,
Mat

This is more of a request so moving to modification requests.

Thanks Tony.

Thanks,

Nutz: Sure, but that implies that your login form is on the same page as your forum. I've got two world set up. I've got the forum of course, where there indeed is a login form, this works as per usual matters and I'm quite content with that. However, there is also a front page which only shows a handful of user-specific features which could very well benefit from using ajax to skip reloading pretty much the same page.

I'm currently developing this page using ajax techniques, if I am successful I will post a tutorial on the subject.

here here -

I am *wishing* for the ajax login for a non vbulletin page. I don't mind so mush the redirect page from with in my forums but want to have the ajax stuff for my other pages that use the vbulletin database -

I love this banana BTW

I'll try to remember and post the results of my trials here. It should be possible and not even that hard, knock on wood.

You rock - sir.
