Loggin looping onto itself
 

Hi all,

Hoping someone has experienced a similar problem...and figured it out.

We are having an intermittent problem where SOME users SOME of the time cannot loggin. When they try to loggin they get asked to loggin again and again.

OR SOMETIMES - when they do loggin - they try to post and get thrown back to the loggin page.

We are running 3.5.1

any help would be really appreciated

Let them clear cookies and browser cache, close all browser windows, and try again making sure to select Remember Me on the login.

Are they all using the same browser?

So far it seems like they are all using IE

I have spoken to 1 user by phone and will call a few more - for the one user I spoke with we tried EXACTLY what you suggested.

In the miidle of the conversation, after she was able to post a few times the system logged her off - and after trying to signin 3 times it worked.

Does that give any ideas?
Could it be a cookie timeout thing within VB? If so where would I look?

Cookie timeout could be a problem if Remember Me is not ticked.

For those members that have a lot of problems, you could try creating a new Style with no Parent set. Let them use this new style and see if it fixes the problems (might need to change you default style also, since the login is done as a guest and will be using the default).
