thread view state

How does vbulletin store the individual user's thread view state.. How does it know which threads have been viewed/read and which haven't..

I've noticed it works on some threads and some of them are just marked as read.

Depends on what Thread Read marking system you have selected in your vB Options.

is this "Thread Read" marking system version specific, cause I couldn't find it in 3.0.7

does it just compare the date you last visit a thread in a forum and checks if any posts in other threads have been made after that date.

For vB3.0 it is a combination of the last visit date and a cookie.
