Switching Hosts

Hey Folks,

I have recently had a terrible experience with a webhost I've used for quite a while. I'm paying 300.00 a month for a dedicated box. I am looking to switch to a new host.

Remember, I've got to have a pretty stout machine and please don't suggest The Planet....

I suggest you have a look at the Hosting forum at vbulletin.com and check out www.webhostingtalk.com for experiences with the host you are choosing.

I would suggest you go with HostGator.com - I've been with them for about six months now and I've had a really smooth ride. No server downtime since I've joined and their support team is very quick to respond to you.

On the flipside, I had a horrible experience using HostGator.com. When I was a customer there, I had my website hacked 5 times in one week. They kept blaming it on the vBulletin code, but as soon as I moved to a new webhost, the hacking stopped and hasn't happened since.

Outside of that, they are a good hosting company but if they can't find the root of the issue, they'll hide and blame. I'd recommend using them, just not for a vBulletin site.

<a href="http://www.bluehost.com" target="_blank">http://www.bluehost.com</a>

Reads the specs you get that coincide with the prices and you'll see its a great choice
