Set 'x' Amount Of Posts To Access Section

How Can I Set It So A User Needs, Lets Say 25 Posts To Access A Section On The Forum And Its Subforums... Not The Entire Board, But Just One Forum On The Board.

I Posted This In How Do I, Got No Response, Then Saw This Area Which Is More Related To Modding But Wasnt Able To Delete My Other Thread...

I Know Its A Relatively Simple If Statement... Could Somebody Please Help Me Out

Thanks...

Thanks For The Help?

No need to make any modifications for this.

Setup a new usergroup and give it permissions to the forums you are trying to limit. Disable access for normal usergroups.

Now setup a Usergroup Promotion that will promote members after 25 posts to the new usergroup. You can select to only add the new usergroup as a secondary usergroup on teh promotion.

Well, only problem here is I already have a mass amount of members in my Registered Users Usergroup... and I don't know how to transfer all of the following into a new usergroup....

Is there anyway around doing that?

Either with an "if posts=" statement, or a way I can transfer all of my Registered Members into a "New Member" usergroup, and then promote them to the Registered Members usergroup....

Also have usergroups for Mods / Bookies / Etc....

Thanks for the help Marco

Once you have added a new promotion, all your existing members will be promoted automatically once the scheduled task that handles promotions runs.

Alrite, thanks Marco... think this should work...

Now if I want to have the scheduled task of promotions run every minute.... is that going to affect my server or anything or does it not use many resources

Because what I've done, is required one post in the introductions board before they can post anywhere else on the board.... and I don't want them to post, and then not be able to post anywhere else on the board... or have to wait an hour or 30 minutes until it hits "5 past the hour" so I've set it to every minute so its current.... but obviously I don't have members signing up by the minute so there will be times it's just running for no particular reason, just running on the chance that somebody will sign up and make their post... is this server intensive or will it slow down the boards?

What should I do here? Thanks

It will effect performance, but i doubt it will be noticable.

Thanks A Lot For Helpin Out
