Ummm...anyone else getting annoyed with these?

WTF? Can someone stop these PM's?

Hello Dark_Wizard,

My name is Genschi. I?m a member of vbulletin-fr.org team (http://forum.vbulletin-fr.org). It?s the unofficial French support website.
We are working hard to translate the language set and we try to translate the most useful hacks. We also develop hacks we share on vbulletin.org.

I?ve noticed you?ve made excellent plugins/mods/hacks, especially vBug Tracker Lite 3.5.1 one.

In accordance with the vbulletin's licence and with your copyright, I ask you to allow us to translate your hacks and mods (past and future) and to post them on our French forum.

Of course, we?ll respect your copyright and we?ll remind users of:
- Author?s name
- Translator?s name
- Link to the original hack / mod at vbulletin.org
- "This release is done with prior consent of the hack / mod author"
- "Hack code is for your visitors usage only, can not be re-released, distributed, published without consent of the hack / mod author."
- "Support of this hack is only available at https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=96888"

All those elements will be available in the downloading post and in the install file of your translated hack.

You can see an example of a translated hack on our board:
http://forum.vbulletin-fr.org/showthread.php?t=5104

We?ll never re-release your hacks and will just distribute and publish them on our board.

At this time, we have collected 147 authorizations. We would appreciate a positive answer.

In case you don't want us to release translations of your hacks, we can release intead the phrases part of the xml file (for vBulletin 3.5 only) on our forum and then give the link to download your plugin/mod/hack on vBulletin.org. Just let us know.

Many thanks.

PS: We are sorry, if you have already received an email like this one. Allan who sent you the first one, has a poor english and found ours more attractive, that's why he copied it. His forum has nothing to do with ours, and we are not responsible of his actions. If you want more informations about it, please let us know.

Well some people not find it annoying. It may be looked upon as an additional resource for people who can't read English well. If you don't like it you can always just reply that you are not interested and will not like anymore messages concerning the topic. :)

Have you kindly asked them to stop sending them to you? That usually works for most people.

I had one about 6 weeks ago, and I just replied saying No, my hacks are for here and vbhacks-germany only and they replied back saying fine ok no problem and I've never heard from them again since.

same for me, not annoying, as they come very rarely

I've had 3 in total I believe since I started releasing hacks. One from "Allen" (who's mentioned in that PM above), one from another site for another language (I forget which), and the one quoted above.

Only takes a couple of seconds to reply with "Sure" or "No", so I'm not overly bothered.

I've had one from Allen in the past, and one from the German site, so no, not really annoying.

At least they ask before publishing, unlike some sites.

True, but this is the second one from this site as stated in the PM....my main concern really was isn't this really soliciting?

Not really, they aren't trying to sell you anything. I've gotton a few and I declined the offer, they sent a thanks anyway in return and didn't bother me again. :)

If it becomes a big problem, well thats what the ignore button is for. :)
