Allow Moderators to view Deleted Posts.

I rather like the Soft Delete options of vB 3.5

However, since only Admins can view deleted posts, it greatly diminishes its effectiveness.

Can someone whip up something that allows viewing deleted posts/threads, based on user groups?

I would be greatful, and more inclined to share this plate of warm brownies. :)

It's already there in usergroup permissions. Just set the 'Can View Deleted Posts' setting to YES

Well under Usergroup Manager, I see "Can See Deletion Notices." Which doesn't really help.

Where do you see, "Can View Deleted Posts?"

ConqSoft 11-06-2005 09:59 PM

Can See Deletion Notices is the one.

SoftWareRevue 11-06-2005 10:14 PM

Right. But that just lets them see Deletion Notices. They have no option to View or Manage the post.

ConqSoft 11-06-2005 10:19 PM

Ah, ok. I have all Super Mods, and they can see them fine.

SoftWareRevue 11-06-2005 10:32 PM

I guess I should have tested with an account first.

It appears the problem is that they have to be a moderator of the forum the post is in before they can see it.

I'd like all moderators to be able to see all Deleted posts. But, I don't want them to moderate all forums.

*Note*

Just view. That's all I need my mods to be able to do. They don't need to manage. But, they need to be able to view soft deleted posts. :)

Hey SWR,

I've knocked up a little mod that should do this: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=100301

It's a bit of a cludge, but to do it in a neater manner would require file edits :)

Thanks,
Alan.

Thanks Alan!

Was I supposed to do something? I can't seem to get it to work.

I probably shoulda asked in your thread. -=\

Hello -

I want something like Moderators and Super Mods can just softdelete the thread rather than physical delete. How is this possible to just allow soft delete and not physical delete.

Thanks
