that's pretty cool :) you should make an xtree gold one (possibly the best file manager ever made)

007 11-03-2005 05:58 AM

That is pretty cool. Very nice indeed! Thanks!

sensimilla 11-03-2005 07:39 AM

outstanding work as always!!! thanks

Snake 11-03-2005 12:00 PM

Now that's a good skin to use.

Holidazed 11-03-2005 12:37 PM

This is freaking awesome.

~Speaking as someone who's first computer was a C64.

Anyway, this is fine if I only have one style. However, what if I have many styles? I do not want to overwrite my existing "vbulletin_editor.css" file with yours. Can't I place it somewhere else and use it?

yes this is a problem, but if you use another style you can leave the "vbulletin_editor.css" as is (this will only show a thin blue border around the editor) - glad you liked it!

Well, I am not sure I want a thin blue border around all the editor box on all my styles. I think I will just do without it.

I think I have found a bug. In firefox, I can bring up the "new message" window or "reply" window. Anything that happens to have a post message option and it displays fine. However, it will not let me type in the message box.

This is not the case with internet explorer. In IE, everything works fine, but there is an odd "gap" at the top of all the "editor" windows. I have attached a screen shot of what I mean. Is this another issue with not using your css file?

BTW, I checked my other styles, this is not happening with them.

nexialys 11-03-2005 02:36 PM

AWESOME look... remembers me of the old time i was working on that engine!

Holidazed 11-03-2005 03:05 PM

What we need is a TRS-80 style, an DOS style and a Linux style.

Holidazed 11-03-2005 03:42 PM

Well, I got the style online and short of the Firefox issue, it is working.

See for yourself

Hey love your site btw, on the bug issue i think i've seen this before, in FFX sometimes the real-time-wysiwyg editor mode kicks in... (a small editor box appears in the main window at the top) try my site in FFX and see if this happens there, but im unable to reproduce this.

Holidazed 11-03-2005 04:09 PM

OK, your site is http://www.x7x7x7.com/ right?

I went there in Firefox and it was not clear what to do. There was only one link and I finally found it. Anyway, I registered and the style seems to work perfectly in Firefox. I have to think it has something with the css file I did not replace.

Comment: Thank your the kind words about my forum.
Question: Can you tell me how to move the "What's Going On" box to just above the forums?
Question: Do you know of any way to make your particular style call the css file from a different path?
Question: What about the odd "space" issue in IE that I reported earlier?

You simply need to click the 'editor mode switch' found on the interface to the top right... or just select 'standard controls' for the interface type via your ACP

as stated in the other thread, this is ingenius.

This style did not come with any smiles as you know, so if theres an offer of some one making them for this style i'll be happy to include them.

Great skin! My first PC was a Commodore Vic 20 and then we went to a C64.. brings back memories!

zappsan 11-04-2005 07:05 PM

I love the idea.
I'm going to use this style^^

Sal Collaziano 11-05-2005 02:00 PM

Holy crap! This is too cool! Haha! I used to own a Commodore 64! I'm gonna use this on one of my sites! :p

Sculli 11-06-2005 08:02 AM

Awesome looking skin. Unfortunately I can't install it as I do not want it to overwrite my images that are stored in /images. I would love to offer this skin to my users if there was a way to have this one and a bunch of others installed at the same time.

Hoffi 11-06-2005 10:31 AM

It looks really Cool. Not very Useful for my Boards, but I think I will use it in my Testfprum fur fun and for the old Times. My First Computer was also a C64. I still have the little one.

i'll give shelley at TAZ a ring. her work is exceptional.

Sculli 11-06-2005 07:25 PM

To make this skin compatible with a board that offers different skins as well, it is just a matter of creating a directory for it and then search and replace the images/ with images/new_directory in the xml file?

Hoffi 11-07-2005 05:26 AM

It works for me with different styles. I did not overwrite any Images. Just Copy the b64 Directory into your images Folder. So all Images were stored in forumroot/images/b64/...

So true. No idea how I initially missed that ..., I was still a noob some 24 hours ago, now that I have spend 20 hours setting my board up (conversion from phpbb2) and only 4 hours on sleep, I feel wiser already. ;)
