"Request this Modification Moved"
vbulletin.org should integrate some kind of feature whereby mod authors can request their modification to be moved in to another forum. This would help clear up many things, including those who post a question as a release and later realise they've posted it in the wrong forum, and those who alter a Template Modification to use a Plugin of some kind, for example.
The request would automatically PM/e-mail the relevant moderator(s) of the forum that it was posted in - possibly with an optional reason field and the Current and Destination (suggested by the author) forums. I think it's a good idea anyway.. :p |
I second this one.

Agreed.
But, wont the mod release forums become defunct with the hack database? |
Who knows.. I rarely used the old database because it didn't have all modifications listed - authors could opt out of adding their hack to it, so unless it's vastly improved - I hope not!
|
Use the Report Post function. We'll see the request from members this way.
|
the new Hack DB will have ALL hacks included
it won't be possible to post a hack without it beeing added to the db. and with the new db the old forum structure will be useless at all :) |
As Tony said, reporting a post can be for asking your post to be moved to the correct forum :)

Well spotted - I'll alert an admin to this ;)

better now?

Just to be an arse, on my board (though I'm admin) I use the function as a 'get the mod to do something with this thread' function.
This includes 'please rename this thread to...' and 'can you add the poll...' or 'please merge with...' and so on. I feel the report post function is an under used feature, as people always kick up a fuss in feedback forums if there's anything against the rules etc. |
And that's what purpose ours serves too. ^_^

But yet:
