impressed. mind you if you know the solution you can do it from any starting point quickly anyway.

You can mix a Rubik Cube up so it looks totally random with as little as 8 moves. Just remember them, and mess about a bit as you do them, and you can impress anyone with how quick you 'solve' it.

FYI, when they first came out (1981 ?) the fastest I ever did one, messed up by someone else, was 47 seconds. I'm not sure I can remember all the moves now.

My solution? Throw it at the wall, and watch the plastic pieces split in 3D (then assembling it back like a model). :)

Remember when it came out (along with that computer toy Merlin, and Coleco's LED football game). All with J Geil's band playing in the background. ;)

Bleh... The easiest and less energy-confusming solution would be utilizing 6x cans of dye and a large brush, bro ;)

But that's not breaking anything!!

In order to understand why and how something works, you take it apart (or break it to see what's inside). The fun part is to reassemble it and see if it works again. :D

And I'm a "sis" (and one of the few who "got into" PC computing very early <-- first computer was a kit built Timex-Sinclair 1000 in 1983, with my first intro in computing languages with BASIC [although I known of FORTRAN and PASCAL before]). ;)

That makes me want to go get a rubix cube now. I had one a long time ago but never really played with it. Definately impressive though

Quillz 11-02-2005 04:51 AM

I was able to solve the Rubix Cube in about 90 minutes.
