Mood Hack 3.5
MOOD HACK 3.5 This is first and my only vBulletin 3.5 hack because I have no clue! I have tried and tested this on my forum at http://www.itshappening.net/forum/ and the hack can be see in operation at this site. What does it do? This hack displays a user's mood in the postbit. The mood is displayed as an image and there are 42 to choose from. Mood can be changed in UserCP=>Edit Options. Credits: This hack is based off "mood hack" written by MyIS_Jordan I have modified his code to work as a template modification in 3.5 MyIS_Jordan pm'd me saying that the modification is ok. Yay The creation of this hack was inspired by my own members who love this nifty hack. The hack images are from other sources and the couple my members created. Installation information on hack: Template Modification: postbit or postbit_legacy Files to upload: 1 folder Picture of hack: original hack for 3.07 to view picture. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=81637 ------------------------------------------------ UPDATED: 12/10/2005 Template Modification and should work in 3.5 or 3.51 without any problems. Fixes: Additional Moods Corrected Others Spelling errors Saved in Windows Zip File Upcoming: Template Modification so Mood can be changed in Member ID section in either version without upgrading to 3.51 so the add-on by sniper will work. Step-by-Step Instructions including in both files; new install and upgrade versions. Small addition of approximately 12 new moods added. Update contains full install and quick update. This update works in 3.5, 3.5.1, 3.5.2 although to use the add-on by sniper you must upgrade to 3.5.1 12/18/05: the code for the postbit was typed in twice - Fixed! Sorry! 12/18/2005 Updated and/or fixed some of the pictures and added a few new moods. I have several "Adult" Moods but will only make avaialable by PM... |
Just wanted to let everyone know that I added this <br /> at the start of the modification in the postbit so it would provide a space between reps and the mood image. Remove or keep as desired.

It's not working for me? I've uploaded the images into images/mood and I've followed everything else in the instructions. Still not sure why it's not showing up? Any help?

I downloaded the zip file today, I realised I could open the files without having to extract them as it was asking me for a password. I've got the drop down box on my usercp but none of the images are showing up? I think it may be something I've done wrong in the coding?

I think I have done something wrong with the template mod, I've put one mood image word per line so I know that isn't what I've done wrong. I've uploaded the images into the correct folder www.mysite.com/forum/images/mood and I copied the text exactly when I pasted it. Maybe it's the field number that you put in X? That's the only thing that I can think of that might be wrong? I've tried altering it but to no avail. I'll PM you a copy of the text in my template. Sorry about all this

Edit: nevermind, stupid me forgot to chnge one of the fieldX's..the one that matters lol (the one in the condition). |
I have also installed this exactly as said. All name's are on one line each. All image's have been uploaded in their folder. Yet some work and some don't. go figure.
|
I replaced the X with the field number in all 3 places but not sure if I'm still missing something?
|
I really do understand how issues can arise installing any hack so i wrote out "step by step" instructions for non-coders to follow and hope these will resolve any issues up to now...
|
Well, I've followed the step by step instructions and even though I can see the drop down menu in the options and see the images when I test the url, I still can't see them on my forum :( so I gave up and got a drink like you said! Lol.
|
Well I have given up and gotten a drink. I will just take out the mood's that the image's are not showing but showing as an x even though they are uploaded with the rest. lol

By the way, a few of our members are busy creating more moods. I will post an update when they are all done, but that will only require uploading the files and cutting and pasting the names in the User Profile Field ;) |

I look forward to the additional moods! |
woohoo!! works great! :D

ps. any chance on getting that addon mod where you can change it directly from the postbit instead of having to go into user cp options? ;)

Glad this has finally been ported :)
I'd love the quick change/update too. I'll wait for that to come along before I install just to keep them happy ;P |
Somebody make this a plugin. :squareeyed:
