Removing powered by vBulletin
Hi,
Are we allowed to remove the "Your Forums - powered by vBulletin" in the title? Thanks |
No. You are not allowed to remove "powered by vBulletin" neither from the title nor from the footer, unless you purchase "Branding Free Option" from the vBulletin.com's member area (which at the moment costs $120).
|
$120 to take their name off something, they sure do know how to steal money. Thanks though.
|
No problem, and yes I do agree with you, $120 is a bit too much for that.
|
Yes you can take it out of the tittle but $120 to get it off the footer...
Here is how right from vb site....... http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147801 |
here's a question:
Are you alowed to take of the version # from the footer, but leave the " Powered by: vBulletin" bit intact? |
Yes, I believe you can remove the version number as well. I am sure this is verifiable on vbulletin.com.
|
Official:
Yes you can remove the 'Powered by vBulletin' from the title. Yes you can remove the version number from the footer. |
Thanks - so we can remove anything that says "vBulletin" except the footer?
|
can we change the display in the footer?
Like, instead of Powered by vBulletin, it's Powered by v B u l l e t i n the reaon I ask is we know that hackers sometimes use search engines to find forums to hack and searching on "powered by vbulletin" gives them a list of potential targets. So, can we put some extra spaces there to deter that kind of thing? |

Let's say you replace it with an image could that be traced? I Wonder? |
Sorry, I have bad php skills, and I really want to remove the version number in the footer. I dont care if it says powered by vbulliten, I just need the version number out. Could someone point me to the right file to remove this security flaw?
If I go into the phrase manager, and remove the powered by vbulliten text (which isnt my objective...I just want the version gone) suggested in the link provided, and click save. everything is still there :/ |

arbdude,
You are currently showing up as unlicensed. To be able to download hacks and/or receive support here at vBulletin.org, we ask you to please click here (vB-germany users click here) and enter your email address, to show us that you are licensed. You will need to use your customer number and password (which will be in the email you got when you paid for your license) to access that page. Please note that your email is case sensitive. The update of your account may take up to one hour. Thank you. |
I cleaned this thread from some posts that don't belong in pre-sales.
Asking How, or explaining How, is not pre-sales. For an official answer on what you can remove and what not, you will need to ask at vb.com (although it has already been answered many times there). |
