Very Nice!

Hello,

Looks like a decent style but I won't be installing it. I don't join sites to get support (and boost their members count) when the download was found on this site. (My interpretation is that people that require all "inquiries" or support to post AFTER registering on another site, are JUST trying to get a memberbase. I don't like that.)

nexialys 10-09-2005 04:01 PM

the usual unwritten rule when you release something here is that you support it here, or tag your release as unsupported.

never try to tease people by asking the people here to register to your site for support...

Yorixz 10-09-2005 04:41 PM

It's a very nice style; please just ignore this post ;)

CommuneZoom 10-09-2005 07:33 PM

You are free to download the style here from vBulletin.org, you do not have to register in order to download (except at vBulletin.org that is). The reason behind asking registration at CommuneZoom is not to boost our member-base, as that is not the case, it is simply to maintain order for any support issues that may come through.

I've seen quite a few hack authors require support to be directed to their official release website and I do not believe this to be any different than any other request, nor one that is too difficult.

The styles are being released free of charge and you may easily download them here or at CommuneZoom, the choice is yours :). It's not as if we are releasing the style here as a preview and simply redirecting to our website in order for you to download the style, rather we are just trying to keep all support inquiries in order.

I am sorry to hear that some of you may not download the style simply because full support is provided at the original base for the style, though as above, I've seen simliar requests and I've yet to see anyone else be given a hard time about their releases.

Agreed, many authors have special websites that they refer members to, should a bug need to be reported, or for any other unforseen error regarding the release. And I don't see how simply stating that support will be given at another website could be considered "teasing".

This looks just like the other style you released... :surprised:

Any chance of a Fluid version?

hydrostatic 10-09-2005 07:47 PM

I never think it's too much to ask for support to be directed to a specific website. This style is released for free and I don't see the problem with supporting the author's website. Even if the author asks me to sign up to just download the style, it's not a problem because he spent time and effort getting this style released to the public for free and he's really getting nothing out of it. It takes about two seconds to sign up, so why not?

This looks just like the other style you released, only it's a Fluid version... I like this one better though. Thanks for releasing... again... sorta.

Both designs were created around the same time, hence their similarities, though some prefer a more open design, which is what the vBComm style provides, while this one is more closed (bordered).

Yeah, it looked in the screenshot, like it was a Fluid style, not Fixed. Any chance of a Fluid version?

I'll keep that for the next update, which should be either tonight or tomorrow morning :).

Excellent, also, there seems to be an error when viewing the Memberlist. The DHTML drop-down menus aren't working.

Also an error when viewing showthread.

hey there,

I have downloaded the style for my forum, however it is not right.
I have 'installed' it also twice, but when you add a next forum, it looks weird.

How can I, if you look at the box 'last post & date' at the index page
show underneath eichother, like this

Last post
[image]topicname
By username
Time/Date

Quote:

<td class="thead" width="100%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
<td class="thead" width="115">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
<td class="thead">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
<td class="thead">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
<if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
<td class="thead">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
I have tried increase the column here: at FORUMHOME

I changed it from 175 at 115 but nothing changes.

Can you help me out?

My site = http://forum.lelijkding.nl

Tnx
Dopi

Please keep in mind I do have a job and it keeps me away at times ;). Nothing personal, just allow a bit more time before bumping requesting :).

As for the issue, you will need to edit the forumhome & forumhome_* templates, not just a single template.

As for the memberlist issues, can you post a SN? That template wasn't edited I don't believe heh.

Kirk Y 10-11-2005 01:44 AM

An SN? What's an SN? lol...

Ah, heh, it's been a long day, SS (Screen Shot) ;). My mistake.

Very nice style and who cares about having to register on a site to get support, at least it's free and they want to keep track of support

Ha, yeah I figured that's what you meant, but I wasn't totally sure. There's also a gap at the bottom of the Search Members drop-down.
See attached SN... ;)

What version of IE are you using? I can't seem to get the same error reproduced. I see the gap and that is due to the CSS settings of x repeat-no (may be backwards ;)). You basically just need to remove that from all CSS settings with a background when you edit the style and that should fix the gapping issues.

Kirk Y 10-11-2005 11:35 PM

I'm using IE 6.0... and it works fine on all my other styles, so I don't believe it's something wrong with the site.

hmm...I've not been able to reproduce it. I've tinkered with it in IE 6.0, FireFox and Opera, so I am missing something somewhere.

rb290 10-16-2005 12:27 AM

before I install any skins, does anything get deleted and would I have to add stuff again ?

I put this on my site, love it, rated this thread as "Excellent", and clicked installed. Thanks!
