Extended Reputation Display
This modification is no longer available or supported. This hack extends the existing reputation display system from just the light/dark green pips to green and golden pips, and then golden stars as the pips limit is reached. The dark green pips are followed by light green pips, which are then followed by 'golden' pips. When the limit these can display is reached, the display is prefixed by a golden Star, and started again. If your reputation is zero then the neutral grey pip is displayed. Negative reputations are displayed in a similar manner using light and dark red pips and stars. Each time you 'lap' the limit of the pips display, another star is added. The number of stars in unlimited. The number and value of the pips in each group of pips is defined by six settings in the vboptions > reputation options. The supplied default values will display 5 dark green, 5 light green and 10 golden pips before a star is displayed. The golden pips kick in at 2,000 points and it takes 10,000 points to get a star (so 20,000 for two etc ...). A line break can be inserted after the stars. The extended display system can be enabled/disabled in the options. Just follow the install instructions in the zip file to install this product. History: v2.01 : First Release. v2.02 : Minor changes, no update necessary. v2.03 : Rogue setting in XML file removed. |
Great work might use this :nervous:

what is the tag to display rep images?
I have customized my postbit, and accidently removed what ever tag displays the images... can you tell me what I add to display the images... I want the images to be separate, from the giving of rep |
Great hack, will use when I enable reputation system again!
|
Great hack!! :urule:

Thanks for the hack, keep up the good work! :)
clicked install |
I tried it out, but I get this "KimmiKat has a brilliant future" over and over instead of the rep images. Messing with the postbit template didn't fix it.
|
You haven't uploaded the gif images into the correct folder.
|
They were uploaded, but I found the problem, a couple of my styles use a different directory and I forgot to add those to those directories. They now work. Thanks.
|
I use the default style, I have uploaded to images/reputauion and the one green dot that shows has that location as the image location.
Am I missing something cause it still isnt working. How to check where the default theme is pulling from? |
Sorry, what exactly is your problem ?
|
Sorry, I have uploaded everything but the reputation is stuck at one green dot regardless of rep or how low I set the scoring system.
Someone else on here mentioned they had the same problem a found a fix. |
Sorry but I don't see how that's possible, you are changing the right settings ? (see attached).
|
pretty cool, thanks for sharing
|
My settings are right. I have installed and uninstalled 3 times. I did get it to work by creating a user and setting the rep to 9999 and it worked. I am thinking something didnt transfer over on my import or I have the values set to high that it doesnt show for a single user other than the fictional one I created.
Having said that, I apologize, I thought it was your hack, turns out it is on my end. Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out though Mike |
Is there a way to make the high value dots or stars appear UNDER the others instead of OVER? I actually made a different colorad dot rather than the gold stars and I would like to have them show on the bottom rather than the top. I would also like the members to keep their 10 gold dots and then move on to the new dots under. It seems the way its set right now that if you hit the 10 golds, they defalut back to 5 golds and a gold star.

You cannot do this without re-writing a large part of it.
|
it works very well for me,pretty cool, thanks for sharing

I used a similar version that you wrote before Paul, where I only use 6 Stars, and also a Negative Image, Which doesn't actually add more images, Its just 1 Image (a poo)
Anyway, I am looking to put this into this hack, but I am not sure if I would be able to. Again I just want it so that it stops at 6 Stars, and people get stars in this way 1 Star = 0-500 2 Star = 501-1000 3 Star = 1001 - 2500 4 Star = 2501 - 5000 5 Star = 5001 - 10000 6 Star = 10001 + Any help would be great regards Watson |
You should be able to do that by editing the appropiate settings, which are now in the ACP, and uploading your custom images with the correct names.
|
Cheers Paul, will give it a bash right after my upgrade :)
Just wanted to check on that 1st :) |
Just went to give someone some reputation there and when I click the rep button it just takes me to the top of the page after installing this hack :(
|
Still having this reputation problem, if anyone can help me out :)

@ What is wrong i dont understand please help me install you hack but i dont see
reputation pic i send it your pm my site acp accaunt if possible check please tnx advance |
I have looked at your site and there is nothing wrong.
The only 'problem' I see is that all your users (except two) have a reputation of 30 or less, of those remaining two, one has a rep of 60, and the other (Telefoncu) of 1010. Therefore you are not going to see much displayed (one green pip in fact). I have edited the administrators rep to 3000 so you can see. :) |
Is there any way to make the yellow stars appear in addition to the bars (just like the yellow bars do) instead of having the bars start over again?
thanks -vissa |
