Allow users to change usernames.
I know a site that has a hack like this and its based on 3.07 right now. It has an option in the User CP that says edit your username, it makes you type in your password and then the new name you want. It then updates everything except quoted replies to that new name.

I think that is part of uShop/uCash

This can be done by changing the setting in the usergroup. While editing a usergroup in the admincp, it gives you the option to allow them to change their usertitles without parsing html.
The store hack only allows you to change it through the store page and only do it once. |

I'd rather not do it with Ucash/Ushop |

This hack allows the change of usernames, but some suggested a history of username changes. Think this would be possible as well? |

Anyone? :(

Do you like my idea? I can walk you through what I did, if you want but it only stores their original name.

Flypaper - What exactly does your idea do, I'd be interested if I knew a bit more about it. :)
Right now the version we had on 3.07 allowed users to go to their CP and it had an edit username link, where they could type in the name. After that was done, they logged in with this new name from then on. I've seen a hack here and there that just changes the display name, I'm more interested in completely changing their name just like an Admin can. |
