above all else: luck, advertising, pron, etc. - it is a great domain name.
|
It is more than likely one of the best domain names you can buy :p, maybe other than ebay.com xD.

I'm not a fan of the topic of it but it certainly seems an active community :)
Are you the main forum/site of your genre of site in the running or are there others of similar/bigger size/popularity? Chris |

well the more popular fitness/bodybuilding sites are bodybuilding.com - (Threads: 514,078, Posts: 6,084,299, Members: 117,609) elitefitness.com - (Threads: 393,403, Posts: 5,059,805, Members: 102,441) then you have my site bodybuildingdungeon.com - (Threads: 4,568, Posts: 82,368, Members: 9,217) theres no way i can catch up with them, but i went to be up there as the biggest fitness/bodybuiling sites.. i think both sites started in 1995.. |

As always content is king, good content is what reels people in. You hook em with the content and hopfully they sign up on your forum and become a long time member. |
thats the thing.. i do have something other sites dont have...
my main attraction is the bbing video clips my site has posted mainly by me and the co-owner. that section only has 37,113 posts.. as you do have to reply to see the download link.. the Main Discussion Board has 7,802 posts misc has 7,359 posts and the adult section has 5,540 posts. so i do have something others dont which is why bbd.com is gettin so many members. but i am always looking for new ways to increase membership, and new ideas to make bbd.com a more unique site. |

hey MPdev..love your site.
http://www.extremefitness.com/forum/index.php Pictures of Babes (367 Viewing) that seems to be your most popular section which isnt bbing/fitness related..have you done anything to make your other sections more active? .. id like to know. |
Blame it all on Google - I got a ton of referral traffic from search engines. I even cleared out the POB section entirely just a couple months ago and started from scratch. I've even closed the section down for a week at a time (just last week) because the number is usually 700+ viewing at any given time. "Normal" traffic is around 1,000 users online throughout the day unless I'm blocking the Babes section. That we pruned threads every 90 days for the first 4 or 5 years we were around really make our numbers seem small (except number of registered users); I myself have made over 7,000 posts on the site over the years, I believe. I'd have to total the post count to see how many threads have actually been created (we upgraded to vBulletin about 5 months ago).
Maybe a little history is worthwhile - I am a fitness photographer who also has done adult work. I've brought over 30+ models to the site who post as EF BABES, so we have a mixture of content producers posting content. Truth is, there are alot of bodybuilding/fitness sites out there and we're all competing for the same group of people; my forums have some good people invovled and a nice community of fitness buffs. Weather it grows or not matters little to me as I enjoy the site as it is. |
