Send HTML Email to Users

I don't know if this is possible with the standalone vBulletin 3.5.0, or if there is a hack/plugin already, I did a quick search but found nothing.

Is there a way to send a HTML email from AdminCP --> Users --> Send Email to Users ? Like a mailing list?

If there is a hack/plugin/product that does this, could someone point me in the right direction, otherwise, is there someone who could make a hack/plugin/product to do this??

Thanks,

You could use Hook send_mail to change Content-Type to text/html for this action and just use the existing controls.

This does work... the downside is that all the rest of the emails generated by your vB install like your subscription notifications or your pm alerts are parsed in plain text with no formating.

Leaving you to deal with ugly emails with non-clickable links, or you have to edit each and everyone of the mail templates to add your own markup.

If IPB had one distinct advantage over vB, it was the ability to send HTML emails as standard!

I hope this mod/hack gets done soon! :D

Well, you could just change the content-type when needed by setting some kind of flag.

Btw: IMHO HTML emails are evil and should be forbidden ;)
They are also more subject to be classified as spam, you might want to take this into account.

Bump...

I want HTML email too. There is a hack for 3.00 but I'm guessing it won't work in 3.5 unless someone updates it?

Yeah the 3.0 hack was great. Can somebody contact the author and get permission to port it to 3.5 if possible? I know there are similar addons like commbull but that's too robust in regards to vbulletin, I generally send out a newsletter which has special formatting and images, so just the ability to either use html or not would be good to have back on 3.5.

Here is the hack for 3.03 by Dean C.

I've send him a pm, but he doesn't react on it :ermm:
I also need this option very much

Just in a vain attempt to have this actually done for of us who are evil and prefer to send HTML emails to our users as newsletters... ..

I *REALLY* don't want to have to install a 3rd party script just to send HTML newsletters to my forum users... Especially when the functions is there to send mail from vB, just not HTML...

Please? Pretty please? With sugar on top even!

EDIT:
I've just figured out how to do it so no 3rd party script needed... Though a plugin would be nice for this so I do not have to edit files everytime I want to send a newsletter...

fingers crossed

EDIT2:
Tired of waiting... Here is a hack to allow HTML emails to be sent:
