Very nice :)

Cyricx 09-09-2005 06:37 PM

Link to demo or screenshot? :)

Barakat 09-09-2005 07:11 PM

run the fish.swf and u will see it any way here is a screen shot

Kirk Y 09-09-2005 07:25 PM

Ha ha... this is pretty cool. If anyone here has a forum about marine life, this would be perfect. Oh... just so you know, the plural form of "fish" is also "fish". That fish... those fish.

FightRice.com 09-09-2005 07:30 PM

 fishes

Cyricx 09-09-2005 07:52 PM

That's awesome :)

Could prolly use this for different SWF files and per style too since it uses a template edit :)

Nice bro, I'll certainly be using this :)

I confirm that it creates problem with firefox and netscape (i.e.: can't click on the forum links). Until the author of this fish add-in fixes this, you can just add the ie check condition around the code:

PHP Code:

<if condition="is_browser('ie')"fish codes above </if>

Barakat 09-09-2005 11:03 PM

accualy idont use the firefox and realy iam sorry for that but if there is any one can modify it for the firefox i will be glade .
i share it here coz its gives the fourm something nice ..

I LOVE IT!!

<< installs.

and yah, I totally want to do this with other flash files in other templates. Is there something specific I have to do to do so? or its just copy and paste as is now with different flash file?

anyway.....COOL!!

Reeve of shinra 09-10-2005 03:16 PM

With Halloween a hop and a skip away, it would be extremely cool to see a ghost and witches version of this.

Borgs8472 09-10-2005 03:40 PM

^ ^
one existed in the past (my previous admin installed one)

Not sure where it is...

EasyTarget 09-10-2005 04:57 PM

yeah, maybe a nice addon pack or something would be a holidays pack.

Huijting 09-10-2005 08:48 PM

Absoluut great :-)

Hope to see more of them

Thnx

007 09-10-2005 10:16 PM

Any example sites using this?

yoyoyoyo 09-10-2005 11:56 PM

why won't this work in 3.0.8?

Tony G 09-11-2005 12:42 AM

Because this forum is for vBulletin 3.5 modifications?

It's just an embedded SWF... I believe he wants to know why that isn't working...

Leah 09-11-2005 04:28 PM

Great one.
Does anyone know where I can find other alternatives to the fish-file?

For Halloween, Christmas etc?

I don't think you could be any more unhelpful if you tried - or maybe you are trying- either way smart aleck comments are really not needed.

correct...

It is just a template edit to the header template, so it seems it should work in 3.0.8, but it doesn't. Was something added to 3.5 that handles flash better/differently?

Pardon me if it is taboo to discuss such things in the 3.5 forum :alien:

Kirk Y 09-27-2005 02:02 AM

Nope, not that I know of... it doesn't make any sense as to why it's not working for you. Are you certain you're entering the correct path for the .swf file?

Edit: Oh my God! If you click the fish, they like... blow up. ROTFL!

GrendelKhan{TSU 09-27-2005 06:25 AM

everyone on my board loves this!! thainks!!

can I get anyone to make one of occasional shooting stars?? :p :D

Are you trying to look at it with Firefox? Cause apparently, that doesn't work too well.

This is a neat idea though. I wish I knew how to do Flash now.

jrofosho 10-17-2005 09:30 PM

can you post the .fla file?

funinthesun 10-18-2005 12:03 AM

I've also been looking for a halloween version of this, I saw one on another forum with ghosts flying around but can't find it now?

funinthesun 10-18-2005 12:22 AM

Added thanks :) Can visit my forum for an example if you want to.

evenmonkeys 10-18-2005 03:23 AM

Having problems with it, but it's my fault. It's a very sweet hack. Installed.

EDIT: Nevermind. This hack does not work in FireFox or Netscape. Is there anyway to make this work for those two browsers?

funinthesun 10-19-2005 02:03 PM

Awww, I've had to remove this because it won't work in firefox or netscape and a lot of my members use those browsers. It also makes the links unclickable. :(

davidw 10-21-2005 05:27 PM

falling leaves would be a great for autumn :D

Allan 10-21-2005 06:42 PM

very nice, but don't work with Firefox :(

Where exactly would I add this to make it work with firefox?

Like This?:

Code:

accualy this is my first time i use firefox . i wrote this code for both ie+firefox but i found that
Function works perfectly in firefox and IE until you add wmode="transparent". Then Firefox no longer runs the function.
this is my big problem now !!!!!!!!!!!!
if u just remove the <param NAME="wmode" VALUE="Transparent"> code its will be the same !!! on board that white box behind the flash file .

maybe some one here or there can help to do it .

PHP Code:

<embed src="http://www.path to ur file /fish.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="630" height="650"></embed
