Can you add sig width and height size and filesize to this so this will be the all in one sig limit hack? ;)

nexialys 09-02-2005 06:43 PM

the All-In-One would be per usergroup.. ;)
(here is open for requests...)

add how many images you can have

Freezerator 09-02-2005 10:47 PM

Well, i just want to say nice hack, this is where i have been waiting for! This should be standard in vb :P

TCM 09-02-2005 11:12 PM

Sig width and height isn't really practical. It depends on the settings of the user viewing the post.

Bad Bunny 09-02-2005 11:20 PM

Thanks for another great plugin!

What do you mean "not practical"? It would be a limit set for a max width and height and filesize.

BamaStangGuy 09-02-2005 11:54 PM

I need this but for per usergroup :(

I assume you mean for images in the sig? Otherwise TCM is correct.

Boofo 09-03-2005 12:47 AM

Since this is a sig hack, why would I mean anything else? ;)

Limiting width for images would seem like it would require the use of a div or something similar that would scroll anything bigger. Perhaps I am wrong.

cause ppl may think you were talking about limiting the whole sig size. It was a hack b4. Sigs aren't just for images.

That's why I said "add" it to the hack. ;)

Kirk Y 09-03-2005 02:41 AM

Do these restrictions apply to Administrators/Super Moderators, as well?

Andreas 09-03-2005 03:38 AM

@boofo
I could ... but I don't need that as I don't allow Images in Sigs anyway (Sigs are Text, max 4 Lines 80 Characters each according to Usenet Netiquette :))

@acidburn0520
Administrators are excempted

@nexialys
Breaking this down to Usergroup Level would be possible (although a change in how BBCodes are handled would be necessary).
But the same as I already answered to boofo also applies here: I don't need that :)

CMX_CMGSCCC 09-03-2005 03:43 AM

I would use that feature to limit image sizes as well, I could add it if Kirby gives the ok.

BamaStangGuy 09-03-2005 03:53 AM

Would someone PLEASE make it per usergroup?

FleaBag 09-03-2005 12:17 PM

Great work Kirb. :)

Andreas 09-03-2005 07:56 PM

Updated, details see first Post.

Martin CX 09-03-2005 08:09 PM

Perfect. Thank You, Kirby.

Boofo 09-03-2005 08:36 PM

Thanks, Kirby. Now it is the all in one sig limit hack. ;)

GoNz00 09-03-2005 10:12 PM

then only those BBCodes disabled in all Usergroups where he is a member will not be available to him.

Which part of these instructions don't you understand?

GoNz00 09-03-2005 10:28 PM

where to edit the sig size ?

not sure what to look for once in usergroup manager, probably jump up and smack me in the face once you tell me, my brains asleep, ive been driving 13 hours today!

Andreas 09-03-2005 10:34 PM

Permission Group Signature Permissions

GoNz00 09-03-2005 10:40 PM

i checked the plugins active, but i cant see that anywere ?

usergroup manager, then i go to edit permissions for said user group, scroll up and down and dont see that ?

Andreas 09-03-2005 10:44 PM

You've uploaded bitfield_siglimits.xml to direcotry includes/xml before you imported the Product XML?

GoNz00 09-03-2005 10:48 PM

i had put it in /includes not /xml

have uninstalled/reinstalled but still see nothing ?

Andreas 09-03-2005 10:55 PM

Should be there.
Can anyone except me confirm that the Permissions are there?

nexialys 09-03-2005 11:45 PM

Code:

/admincp/index.php?do=buildbitfields
is needed in all situations to update the bitfields of permissions...

it's all showing correctly from here though!

thanks KirbyDE to have move this to permissions!!! (my request!)

;)

Andreas 09-03-2005 11:52 PM

It's not necessary - the Product install Code rebuilds the Bitfield Cache automatically (well, at least it should).

Mith 09-03-2005 11:56 PM

3.5 RC2 here. Just installed as a product and uploaded the xml to the correct place (it says /includes/ so thats where it is).

Seems to have added the plugin fine, but I DON'T get the usergroup permissions as described.

Andreas 09-03-2005 11:58 PM

No, bitfield_siglimits.xml must be uploaded to includes/xml!
Edit: Just noticed that it was in the wrong Folder in the ZIP ...

nexialys 09-04-2005 12:10 AM

next feature: add all these details in a block like the "Posting Rules" in the "Edit Signature" page... so users will be informed of their restrictions...

this is not really needed, just a neat new feature!.. :)

Andreas 09-04-2005 01:34 AM

Updated, details see first Post.

Boofo 09-04-2005 01:37 AM

I have a very heavily modified forumrules already. Is there a way to have it only show up on the edit sig page in it's own box?

Andreas 09-04-2005 01:40 AM

It shows only on profile.php?do=editsignature ... and if your Template is heavily modified, chances are it won't show up at all :D
Anyway, you can always take a look at the Plugin and modify it to suit your needs.

BamaStangGuy 09-04-2005 04:57 AM

Thanks Kirby!
