No errors. But the pictures aren't in the category...

Reeve of shinra 09-01-2005 02:53 AM

This is nice and very much needed! Would it be hard to backport this to 3.0?

Andreas 09-01-2005 08:50 AM

@KuRI
Do you have vBAdvanced Gallery installed?

@Roxie
I forgot to mention that this doesn't work properly when you are stroing Profile Pictures in the Database due to this Bug.

@Reeve of Shinra
Actually, this is a Port of a 3.0 Hack.
But I am too lazy to write instructions :)

indians 09-01-2005 11:25 AM

nice 1 thanks

nexialys 09-01-2005 12:23 PM

relatively to the bug, would you have a fix for that bug actually ?!

i've read the discussion, but there is no final answer... (would be good to fix it!)

Allan 09-01-2005 05:10 PM

no screen ?

Andreas 09-01-2005 08:04 PM

There is nothing to see (except one setting).

@nexialys:
Well, the fix is to overwrite the functions in Class vB_Datamanager_Userpic and place the Hooks there - as posted in the Bugreport.

Roxie 09-01-2005 08:25 PM

How do you change the storage method?

I wiped xxes over my IP address.

I was changing the storage back to Filesystem when this happened.
All the images have filenames like _759096 and do not show. The url of that one is http://www.nzboards.com/photos/showi...hp?i=205&c=507. Doesn't work. :(

Andreas 09-20-2005 09:33 AM

Gonna take a look at it, but will take a few hours as I currently got other things to do.

Pretty confusing to put Profile Pictures Storage Type options under Avatars, and only under Avatars, really.

Should be in vBulletin Options - User Pictures or a link to that same page somewhere else.

Brinnie 09-22-2005 09:38 AM

hmmm... i only see options to change the file path. :-/

Doesn't it say 'images are currently being served from the database' above that?

By submitting the form with the paths, you are changing the storage type to File System.

Brinnie 09-22-2005 10:19 AM

first one says: ./customavatars
second: customavatars
third: ./customprofilepics
fourth: customprofilepics

:confused:

@kall
Should work now

@Wayne
Should work (in RC3 anyway, no matter what the storage method is)

hyproVision 09-24-2005 07:45 PM

Got a screenie?

Andreas 09-24-2005 07:49 PM

How should I take a screenshot of a Plugin that does not create any visual effect?
Hmm ... a screenshot of the Code maybe? :D

i thought this was supposed to show all profile pics uploaded in a certain gallery that you pick?

doesnt work for me. i'm on 3.5.2.

ProjectCamaro 01-02-2006 04:14 PM

Hack works great but I've decided it really wasn't what I personally wanted. So I uninstalled it and deleted all the pictures and catagories it made and the random pictures that now show up on the gallery home page and my forum home page from the gallery are still being taken from the pictures that have been deleted so they are coming up as red X's. Does anyone know how to fix this?

b00k 04-22-2006 03:05 AM

...........

Sychev_S 08-17-2006 03:59 AM

anyone tried this on vb 3.5.6?
