v3 Articles for 3.5
I am looking for a port for v3 Articles for vbulletin 3.5 the url to the v3 Articles is located at https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=65934
I'm not sure if John is converting this or not. I seem to recall him mentioning something about having a new version which he may release instead. Personally I think I will end up converting it locally for use on our forum sometime in the next two months as we want to move to 3.5 but cannot lose our articles system - I guess I could ask his permission to release it - if he has no plans to do it himself.
Paul, please do. Thanks in advance.

A little update on this:
I asked John's permission to port it and he gave it to me. I just started with porting it to vBulletin 3.5. You can expect it in 3 à 4 weeks. Maybe there will be a closed beta before the release to track bugs (if you are interested in it, you can always send me a pm and I will contact you when the beta is ready). The first release will be a port with no extra features (except W3C compliance). Ofcourse there will be an ability to upgrade from the vB 3.0 version of v3 Articles. |
I had asked him about this yesterday but If you got him good job hope it goes well.
Any Updates on this? I just found V3articles and am very curious to try it out? What does the admin interface look like? Does it have templatable pages?
Thanks! |
im interested also :)
Yeah very interested in seeing if it can be done easily.
I had some busy weeks, that's the reason why it isn't finished yet, but I'm still working on it. I finished basic porting things and now I'm fixing the known bugs and adding some new features. I'm also moving all hardcoded text to phrases (a lot of work  ) and cleaning up the XHTML code (W3C compliance).
Wish you luck! I really look forward to seeing it in action!
Hi Jelle, good luck with the port. I am doing a major upgrade on my forums at the end of June and this is going to be a real life saver. Please supply your paypal address so I can make a donation! Thanks!

hey RS, how is it coming along?
Also you might want to have a look at Geek Article And Review System (GARS). A powerful articles & reviews system, however it's commercial.
I would love to see this when it comes out.

Does GARS use the message board for articles? What I am looking for is something like what Static Design uses: Here is the articles: http://www.static-design.com/forums/...rticle&artid=1 and here is the message board: You don't see the articles category on the message board: http://www.static-design.com/forums/ I would like to keep them seperate and that format on static-design looks very professional and not like a "message board post". Hey is using vbarticles 2 by Cinq, but I am hoping this is the same thing just version 3. |
Hey RS any update to this? Anything any of us can help with
Yeah I am looking forward to this as well.
