vBulletin.com DNS Problems
This is just a quick note to let you know that vBulletin.com is experiencing DNS problems due to technical difficulties with our registrar (they put corrupt data into the DNS system and as a result the world's DNS servers don't know where to find vBulletin.com).
We are working to see if the problem can be resolved, but it may be that we have to wait for the various DNS servers around the world to refresh themselves with the correct, uncorrupted data. Sorry for the inconvenience. |
Why not run your own dns servers, or use something like ZoneEdit ?
|
Thanks for letting us know, I posted it on the front page aswell to make sure it's seen :)

I put in the IP address and it started to resolve for me, with the vbulletin.com domainname..
Then again it could be just cached DNS info.. |

Not much use if you go via proxy servers ;)
|
Right, that's a problem then ... do many ppl use Proxies?
|
Well they do in the UK, don't know about other countries.

Still doesn't seem to work for me..even after flushing the DNS multiple times..
Hopefully this issue can be fixed soon :( Regards, |
Hi,
Yep having the same problem here in the UK, thought it was just me, my last isp blocked the vbulletin server for about 5 days once, at the same time they blocked the server I was running 10 websites on, hence the fact they are my former isp. taffy |
still not working here, is there any other way to access the site?
|
Add the following line to your 'hosts' file (on windows 2K/XP \windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts), make sure that you add it to the file hosts without an extension:
Code:
69.93.104.200 www.vbulletin.com vbulletin.com images.vbulletin.com |
Worked for me, how do I know when the problems are solved?

Just try to remove it in 1 week, and see if all work. There is no way to tell when the change will be propagated to your DNS servers.

DNS is DOA! |
Located in the US, and cannot get into vbulletin. DNS error here!
|
No interruptions at all for me. NTL UK.
|
Still no connection in The Netherlands.
The host-file solution works for me :) |
I was having problems and did ipconfig /flushdns from a command line and I'm okay now.
Thanks to the poster! |
