Are you on a dedicated server? What scripts were you running on your account?

TruthElixirX 08-21-2005 03:27 PM

http://64.233.187.104/search?q=cache...ient=firefox-a

On your site at the very bottom it says Etthack. Could it be your own member? I looked at your chached pages on google and you have an Etthack registered.

Your Etthack and this one :http://64.233.187.104/search?q=cache...ient=firefox-a appear to be the same guy.

At this place here: http://www.jinxhackwear.com/forum/to...?TOPIC_ID=7504 he is discussing hacknig but that guy uses a different e-mail so it mgiht not be him. Good luck with it all though. I'd start by getting my logs off of my server and looknig for someone to report to thier ISP.

AN-net 08-21-2005 06:01 PM

contact your hosting provider and tell them to pull the logs of the server, also i would suggest contacting the FBI as this is a serious federal offense.

boo.3 08-21-2005 07:39 PM

etthack was a old admin... hes pretty cool guy... i thoguht... i don't think he ment anything by this.. he might have made a backup

we we're pretty good friends... awhile back

twoseven 08-21-2005 08:05 PM

i'd get the logs get a lawyer and charge him you should nail his @$$ to the wall it doesnt matter if he is an ex admin or not(it could be that it wasnt him just someone using that name)

T3MEDIA 08-22-2005 02:57 AM

From what I see you do not have a case against anyone and no one will goto jail for this if you look at your logs or not. Straight up.

Dont let the vb lawyers talk crap in your ears.
Dont belive me? Ask a lawyer (in person or on the phone) on on a thread.

does not mean he should not try, you will never know until you try. people who take down sites for the pleasure of it are detremental and should be penalized for their unethical crimes.

i bet you would try to get a case if it was ur site.

Tony G 08-22-2005 04:33 AM

A lawyer will tell you your odds of winning, go to one, present your evidence and you'll know. They don't take cases to court to not win.

EricaJoy 08-22-2005 07:54 PM

Do as much as you possibly can about that. Legal or otherwise. At the least, grab the IP address and report him/her to his/her ISP.

boo.3 08-22-2005 09:29 PM

I know hes from AUS

and he is a hacker... he has always done stuff like that

i'm sure it is him...

so you really think i have a case with him?

Again it depends on many things, you are best off asking your lawyer. Mine gives me legal advice for free so I'm sure you can find one that will do the same for you.

Its hear say...... You are under the assumption that because the hacker left that persons name that it has to be the person named.... Making a nice smoking gun huh?

bigcurt 08-23-2005 12:06 AM

Its not known as assumption if you have the persons IP. But more than likely he did this under a protected proxy.

Why would someone leave their name... No hacker does that.

And you know this ... how?

Talisman 08-23-2005 01:18 AM

Well, your hacker's not going to leave a street address or blood sample, but they very often do leave their distinctive screen name, symbols, mottos, etc... all over the destroyed site. They might also publish quite alot of detailed information elsewhere while bragging about these activities to hacker friends. They love the attention and notoriety as much or more than any satisfaction they get from revenge.

They're usually sloppy enough to track down quite easily, too... thinking they're beyond reach even if they get caught. So it's worth pursuing.

Good luck.

True, but they normally use a hacking alias so they only use the alias when hacking....So Hellsatan says....

everything hellsatan/santa says is not always true. first thing you should do is contact your host for access logs;)

boo.3 08-23-2005 03:53 PM

so many options... what should i do lol

amykhar 08-23-2005 05:20 PM

It seems pretty obvious to me that if the guy was once a friend, you should contact him and see if it was a joke or if he was involved in any way. If you haven't restored it yet, and it was him playing a joke, then he can fix it for you.

If its a United States issue, the FBI will not even investigate unless you are a commercial site that have lost over $3000 because of the breech.

Once found, it costs U.S. taxpayers $200,000 to prosecute a person that hacked a website.
