It's Ergent!

I love this place...

I have a comment on a certain thread: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=758067

Here's my comment:

You're not shy, you get around
You wanna fly, don't want your feet on the ground
You stay up, you won't come down
You wanna live, you wanna move to the sound

Got fire in your veins
Burnin' hot but you don't feel the pain
Your desire is insane
You can't stop until you do it again

But sometimes I wonder as I look in your eyes
Maybe you're thinking of some other guy
But I know, yes I know, how to treat you right
That's why you call me in the middle of the night

You say it's ergent
So ergent, so oh oh ergent
Just wait and see
How ergent my love can be
It's ergent

You play tricks on my mind
You're everywhere but you're so hard to find
You're not warm or sentimental
You're so extreme, you can be so temperamental

But I'm not looking for a love that will last
I know what I need and I need it fast
Yeah, there's one thing in common that we both share
That's a need for for each other anytime, anywhere

It gets so ergent
So ergent
You know it's ergent
I wanna tell you it's the same for me
So oh oh ergent
Just you wait and see
How ergent our love can be
It's ergent

You say it's ergent
Make it fast, make it ergent
Do it quick, do it ergent
Gotta rush, make it ergent
Want it quick
ergent, ergent, emergency
ergent, ergent, emergency
ergent, ergent, emergency
ergent, ergent, emergency
So ergent, emergency
Emer... emer... emer...
It's ergent

but i neva regret da best
and dis became true
since da moment you said yes

neva had a reason to love

I wouldn't have made fun of his bad spelling if he'd had the courtesy to offer a reasonable sum. $5.00 is like a slap in the face for an "ergent" hack! Just don't offer anything if you're going to do that, man!

What's wrong with the permissions that vb currently gives?

Boofo 08-17-2005 07:09 PM

Ahhh, an old Foreignor song.

Gio~Logist 08-17-2005 07:15 PM

excuse me!!?!?!!!!!!!!

Boofo 08-17-2005 07:17 PM

The song in the first post is called Urgent and was done by a group called Foreignor. If you knew good music, you would have known that. ;)

Gio~Logist 08-17-2005 07:19 PM

If you know real music uou'd know who made this

Quote:

"Juicy"

[Intro:]

Yeah, this album is dedicated to all the teachers that told me
I'd never amount to nothin', to all the people that lived above the
buildings that I was hustlin' in front of that called the police on
me when I was just tryin' to make some money to feed my daughters,
and all the niggaz in the struggle, you know what I'm sayin'?

Uh-ha, it's all good baby bay-bee, uh

[Verse One:]

It was all a dream
I used to read Word Up magazine
Salt'n'Pepa and Heavy D up in the limousine
Hangin' pictures on my wall
Every Saturday Rap Attack, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl
I let my tape rock 'til my tape popped
Smokin' weed and bamboo, sippin' on private stock
Way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack
With the hat to match
Remember Rappin' Duke, duh-ha, duh-ha
You never thought that hip hop would take it this far
Now I'm in the limelight 'cause I rhyme tight
Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade
Born sinner, the opposite of a winner
Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner
Peace to Ron G, Brucey B, Kid Capri
Funkmaster Flex, Lovebug Starsky
I'm blowin' up like you thought I would
Call the crib, same number same hood
It's all good

Uh, and if you don't know, now you know, nigga, uh

[Chorus:]

You know very well who you are
Don't let em hold you down, reach for the stars
You had a goal, but not that many
'cause you're the only one I'll give you good and plenty

[Verse Two:]

I made the change from a common thief
To up close and personal with Robin Leach
And I'm far from cheap, I smoke skunk with my peeps all day
Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way
The Moet and Alize keep me pissy
Girls used to diss me
Now they write letters 'cause they miss me
I never thought it could happen, this rappin' stuff
I was too used to packin' gats and stuff
Now honies play me close like butter played toast
From the Mississippi down to the east coast
Condos in Queens, indo for weeks
Sold out seats to hear Biggie Smalls speak
Livin' life without fear
Puttin' 5 karats in my baby girl's ears
Lunches, brunches, interviews by the pool
Considered a fool 'cause I dropped out of high school
Stereotypes of a black male misunderstood
And it's still all good

Uh...and if you don't know, now you know, nigga

[Verse Three:]

Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis
When I was dead broke, man I couldn't picture this
50 inch screen, money green leather sofa
Got two rides, a limousine with a chauffeur
Phone bill about two G's flat
No need to worry, my accountant handles that
And my whole crew is loungin'
Celebratin' every day, no more public housin'
Thinkin' back on my one-room shack
Now my mom pimps a Ac' with minks on her back
And she loves to show me off, of course
Smiles every time my face is up in The Source
We used to fuss when the landlord dissed us
No heat, wonder why Christmas missed us
Birthdays was the worst days
Now we sip champagne when we thirst-ay
Uh, damn right I like the life I live
'Cause I went from negative to positive
And it's all...

(It's all good)

...and if you don't know, now you know, nigga, uh
Uh, uh...and if you don't know, now you know, nigga
Uh...and if you don't know, now you know, nigga, uh

Representin' B-Town in the house, Junior Mafia, mad flavor, uh
Uh, yeah, a-ight
And you'd know who the following artists are:

Papoose
Jae Millz
Murda Mook
Joe Buddens
Camron
Tupac
Biggie
Cassidy
Big Pun
Bone Thugs
Ali Vegas
Common
Eminen

First of all Eminem is a candy and nothing more. There was no GOOD music after the 70's (which by the way, if you check, a lot of what is done today reflects back on that time). Hip-hop and RAP are not music, sorry. ;)

Gio~Logist 08-17-2005 07:29 PM

HipHop and rap are a form of poetry and expressing yourself. Perhaps if elder people would understand that times have changed and the newer generations have far more intellect than previous generations, they would stop beign narrow minded and realize that old music is not the only "real" music. Also, i don't think there's such a thing as "real" music, all music is what you make it.

:p I still love you boofo!

Hip-hop and RAP are just talking to music. Hell, even I could do that. ;)

Narrowed-mindedness (is that even a word?) has nothing to do with it. Look at the music today. A lot of it goes back to the 70's. And alot of the music back then is becoming just as poular today as it was then, maybe even more so. ;)

And still loving me won't bail you out of this one, sport! ;)

Gio~Logist 08-17-2005 07:47 PM

1) NARROW MINDED, is a word.
2) What hip hop/rap do you listen to?

Boofo I couldn't agree with you more. I'm only 17 but I'm sick of today's emo punkish music-so I asked my dad what he listened to. He introduced me to my favorite band of all time, Pink Floyd, as well as Zeppelin, The Doors, The Who, Guess Who, The Doobie Brothers, and Supertramp, just to name A FEW.

There will never be a musical era like the 70's.

Another group from that era got very little notice until the club circuit years later. I saw then in concert and it was one of the best I have ever been to. That group is The Grass Roots. Ask your Dad about them. They did a classic song called Midnight Confessions. ;)

Jimmy Morrison and the Doors are probably my all-time favorite. ;)

You have excellent tastes in music, sir. Keep it up. ;)

Gio~Logist 08-17-2005 08:20 PM

Am i the only person who listens to hiphop on this whole site?

TyleR 08-17-2005 08:30 PM

No.

/me likes Bone-Thugz-N-Harmony all time.

Jukebox hero is an awesome song. Foreigner was a little too "popish" for my tatses, but they still pumped out some good songs.

Same difference, I just didn't spell it exactly right. Was it not close enough to figure that out? Or were you referring to The Grass Roots? Sorry. ;)

You might want to pick up something by them, if you can still find it. If not, let me know. I have a great 2 cd set by them. ;)

Early Foreigner was the best. They got a little to mainstream as they progressed. Another great band in the beginning was Journey, until they go too mainstream, also. ;)

Marco van Herwaarden 08-17-2005 09:22 PM

Yeah they also made some songs that where not my taste, but you can hardly call Jukebox Hero (it was never a hit over here) popish. :D

AN-net 08-17-2005 09:24 PM

well i will admit most of today's music is crappy and completely bent on commercialism>_> but i think there is a good dabble of here and there in today's music. there are currently some really good rock bands and stuff. i personally like most forms of music. i think the only genre of music yet to be crappified(if your into it) is soul/R&B.

I disagree. R&B/Soul is where alot of the good music actually originated. Led Zeppelin, the Doors and quite a few other bands have contributed a lot of their style and music to the roots of Soul. Listen to one of Burton Cummings first solo albums and you will hear a lot of Soul in it.
