vBintense 08-16-2005 01:43 AM

I would be willing to test it on my community, I like to be a lab rat.

BigIke 08-16-2005 02:03 AM

As would I. Dang Kirby you are pumping out ports and hacks left and right. Awesome job dude. PM me or I'll PM me if you need me to test (I'd be more than willing ;) )

vBintense 08-16-2005 02:11 AM

This the same one as kirby is talking about?

Would hate to have 2 dif port overs to play with.

amykhar 08-16-2005 02:15 AM

It wasn't there for you ;) I just couldn't email it to Kirby from work. It's one I've been running on my own site for a week or so.

Amy

vBintense 08-16-2005 02:17 AM

Ahh, so if I use it then I did not use it right ? :) And I never seen anything lol

WhatChaMissin 08-16-2005 11:59 AM

WOW, I've been looking for this. I love this site!

vBintense 08-16-2005 01:20 PM

I love the zip I dl by mistake , but ..... I see nothing in it , no no (I see nothing)

Actually I have yet to try it, due to once amy said it was not for me, I am awaiting permission to try it, if not I will delete it .....

[high]* vBintense begs amy to allow me to try it :)[/high]

amykhar 08-16-2005 01:27 PM

I am supporting nothing that was downloaded by mistake. ;) And, the install directions and file changes weren't in the zip cause I figured Kirby didn't need em. :D

vBintense 08-16-2005 01:32 PM

Now that is very very evil of you amy :)

[high]* vBintense goes off to cry I do not know the file changes (unless amy shares)
[/high]

The contents I can figure out where they all go though lol :ermm:

AN-net 08-17-2005 06:47 PM

i signed up to test it and it loads terribly slow. i dont know if its the server or the code...

Andreas 08-17-2005 07:42 PM

It's the Server which is goddamn slow.
(You get what you pay for ^.^)

lol what are you hosted on 1.5 ghz?

Andreas 08-17-2005 09:24 PM

Dual Xeon 2.4 Ghz.
But it's VPS with approx. 100 Clients, so mathematically I got like 48 Mhz :)

Andreas 08-17-2005 09:41 PM

Yeah, that's why I said: You get what you pay for :D

I will gladly give your beta a whirl on my forums.

The sooner I get a journal system compatible with the old version of vBJournal installed on my 3.5.0, the better. Many of my users preferred using their forum blogs over LiveJournal. Also, if you wish I will gladly re-add the changes I made with vBlog (another customisation of vBJournal) and share them with you.. :)

Mayers 08-18-2005 08:46 AM

I would love to help test this on my forums :).

Andreas 08-25-2005 02:14 AM

*bump*
I fixed all Bugs reported so far, as well as a whole bunch of issues releated to Private Journals/Entries (hopefully ...):
- Guests cannot view private Journals/Entries
- Private Journals/Entries do not show up in Top Stats
- Private Journals do not screw up Index Display/Pagination
- Private Entries do not screw up Journal Display/Pagination
- Latest private Entries/Journals do show up if the User has Permission
- If a public (or Private Journal where the User has Permission) is being shown on Index, and it's latest Entry is Private (eg. User does not have Permission) it will show "Private" instead of a Link

Other Changes
- Fixed Journal Rating (should work now)
- Fixed a lot of Redirection URLs
- Added some checks for Invalid IDs
- Settings saved in Datastore => 1 Query less for every Page generated by journal.php

Please test and report Bugs :)
If everything goes well, Alpha 1 should be ready within a few Days.

WhatChaMissin 08-25-2005 02:44 AM

any chance their might be a rating system, like on the invision blog system?

Guest190829 08-25-2005 03:25 AM

Is this only a port of vbjournal? Or are you going to develop your own hack once you get a stable version released?

Paul M 08-25-2005 04:25 AM

Maybe I missed the obvious, but where do we download this beta from ?

As stated in the first Post, it's not yet available for installing it yourself, just for testing on my Site.

Osterling 08-25-2005 09:54 AM

Any idea when a release will be made public?

Andreas 08-25-2005 10:01 AM

When there are no Bugs found in the current Version for some days.

Osterling 08-25-2005 11:51 AM

Well if that is your answer, may I ask how many bugs are left and how many are coming in? A little idea would be nice, I am not asking for a dead line, just a little insight on how it's coming along.

Andreas 08-25-2005 11:53 AM

There are currently none that I am aware of.

Biker_GA 08-25-2005 12:35 PM

Kirby, I'm not getting any images. (Opera 8.02/Linux)

Andreas 08-25-2005 01:33 PM

Erm ... which Images?

Biker_GA 08-25-2005 01:35 PM

Interesting. Just fired up XP and it shows as text. I'll post a screen shot from the Linux side shortly.

Andreas 08-25-2005 01:39 PM

I'd more be interested where there are missing images ...

Andreas 08-25-2005 02:15 PM

I see ^.^
The Stylevars for Image Paths were set to localhost - LOL.
Didn't notice that as they are valid on my System ;)

Should show up now.

Biker_GA 08-25-2005 02:18 PM

Yep! :)

Mood drop down shows only "none". As designed? Or should there be other options?
