This is a great vB theme... I have it installed on my 3.0.7 site..

turksengel 08-14-2005 08:58 AM

thanx a love it
clicked install

mrgizmo 08-14-2005 09:01 AM

Maybe I'm not doing this right. I installed the .xml file via ACP and uploaded the red2black folder containing all the images (attach, avatars, etc.) to the forums root and it doesn't work. I then moved the red2black images folder to images in forum root (where all the other style image folders are uploaded to), and it still doesn't work. It displays as vBulletin default.

Running 3.5 RC2.

Thanks. :)

TTG 08-14-2005 09:18 AM

Anyone got this to work on 3.5.0 ?
Looks like a great style but all I can get to work are the images on default vbulletin !

deta 08-14-2005 12:31 PM

the xml is not ok.. for 3.5

cu deta

RMS-Chef 08-14-2005 01:16 PM

DOH?
I even installed on a seperate 3.5 test board. Maybe I switched something....let me check.

EDIT:
Sorry about that folks. I mucked something up with the XML in the original ZIP. ZIP have been updated with proper RC2 XML. I also added the XML for d/l for anyone who had gotten the original ZIP with the wrong RC2 XML.

It was 3AM when I put this together and probably forgot to change the XML download drop down from default to the new style when exporting it.
Sorry about that. :o

If you say so.
On both my test boards the ./images/ folder has nothing but default folders and images.
my red2black folder is in forum root like my ss's show. Dunno what to say.

deta 08-14-2005 04:11 PM

I mine around übersicht to receive, everything should go styles (images) under the images folder.

But müllt one to itself the Root with many lists to.
Other style Proger do just . everything under/images/style-name/...

RMS-Chef 08-14-2005 04:37 PM

Personally I leave the images folder alone for the default style. Less chance of the less knowledgeable people overwriting their default images IMO.

This template if FANTASTIC.
Clicks Install.

One Question though, I've left the copyright at the footer but would like to change the link on my banner to point back to my site, How would I go about this?

Thanks

Funkworkz 08-15-2005 03:46 AM

Installed, but I get a NULL error on forumdisplay.php in certain forums. It has to do with the javascript (the pulldown menus on Search and Quick Links)

The code is the navbar template.
Look for:
HTML Code:

<!-- Red2Black Banner Placement -->
                <a href="http://chefhost.com" target="_blank"><img src="red2black/banners/red2black_banner.gif" width="468" height="60" border="0"></a>
<!-- / Red2Black Banner Placement -->

And put anything you want in there.

Really not sure. The header and navbar templates are the only ones that have been really modified. All the rest of the changed templates like FORUMDISPLAY I only changed a few table classes from "thead" to "tcat".

Tomorrow I will compare the other templates to default and see if I made any additional unintentional edits on those.

john1744 08-15-2005 06:02 AM

Hi, thanks for the style, it is quite excellent, however I am using the double navbar hack, how do I get rid of your navbar? See the attachment for details.

Denglisch or / oder Engeutsch ?

Marco van Herwaarden 08-15-2005 02:27 PM

And what is the purpose of that reply?

In the header template...
Find:
Code:

<!-- nav buttons bar -->
Start there and delete everything under it.

Be sure to leave:
Code:

<!-- content table -->
$spacer_open

$_phpinclude_output

So it should end up like:
Code:

<!-- logo -->
<a name="top"></a>
<table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
<tr>
        <td align="$stylevar[left]" background="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/head_bg.gif"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
        <td align="$stylevar[right]" background="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/head_bg.gif">
                &nbsp;
<!--
  NEW HEADER &amp; NAVBAR

  Now that the nav buttons are in the
  navbar template, you can stick whatever
  you like into this space.

  This makes it much easier for novice
  admins to customize their header
  template without affecting important
  navigation elements.
-->
        </td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- /logo -->

<!-- content table -->
$spacer_open

$_phpinclude_output

I had not noticed any errors myself but please try to replace your header template with the code in the attached file and let me know if it takes care of it. If so, I will update the ZIP.

I myself used your updated header text and it fixed the error I was having but it also removed the home and forums links, Is there any way to get an updated header file which includes these It just seemed convenient especially for new members not too familiar with navigating these boards.

BTW thanks for the fix

Sovereign 08-20-2005 01:24 PM

Like many styles, the gradients don't work on my board! www.alliancemodding.com/vb

In the header template find:
Code:

<!-- nav buttons bar -->
<div align="center">
        <table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" align="center" style="border-top-width:0px">
        <tr align="center">

Under that, you may add your links. If your loking for Home Page & Forum Home try this:

Code:

                        <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="$vboptions[homeurl]">Home</a></td>
                        <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]">Forums</a></td>

Now that's just wierd. Especially since you have this problem with other styles. When viewing the style's CSS settings in the ACP, do you see the examples there?

Sovereign 08-20-2005 02:23 PM

Well, I have this issue with many styles whose image paths are not set to "images/stylename" rather than just "stylename/." This style had gradients defined from "stylename/" rather than "images/stylename." Problem solved!

Ya know, I doubt you could get better paid support from most sites as you'll find from the VB sites and the members.
Thanks again.

Thanks in advance for the help

vanayr 10-05-2005 08:52 AM

Any chance we'll see this updated for 3.5 gold?

RMS-Chef 10-05-2005 04:31 PM

No doubt.
I am in the process of updating some paid styles first but will update this very soon.
When complete I will be sure to send an update through the vB.org system.
