1,011 people have joined my forum in 3 weeks, Around 900 of them are active.

Is this good for a new forum? :surprised:

well yeah most pornos tend to do that.

your site seems to work pretty decently, checked it out 3 times, somehow there seems to always be mostly guests on there, and hardly any members. my old asian community type site had almost 400 members in the first 3 weeks, but twice as many threads and trice as many posts as yours does. things just differ that much. but your site seems to be running well, hope it stays that way, good luck with yours!

but man the style you use, alot of other sites use, you should try very it just a little bit, cause i know 5 sites that use the exact same style.

We write tutorials, photoshop, images ready, php, html, css, xhtml, visual basic, pixel art, cinema 4d etc.. We submit them to the big sites and we also have purchased some paid advertising, Most of the guests are viewing the tutorials and they join by their own choice.
We add a little notice to each tutorial asking them to join the forum if they need support or they liked the forum, We get around 50-80 people join daily.

It all depends on the target audience though doesn't it. For example my website is aimed at a 50 mile square radius of my country, we don't advertise anywhere and is just spread by word of mouth - the target audience is lovers of alternative and rock music... There aren't that many living here. We've had about 5000 registrations and currently have about 1000 active members since inception in 2001. Getting a load of members on launch is great... You just have to make sure they stay! :)

The perfect way to bombard your site with guests, submit photoshop tutorials on good-tutorials.com. I remember one of my members submitting the 1 tutorial, that thread had tons of guests visiting it and still does, all from good-tutorials.com.

and I really think your member count in that time frame is simply outstanding!

At the forum I run/started, roughly 1000 members join each week or so. The only issue I have is making most of those members post :(
