New bespoke Alfa Romeo site flash front end, forums linked to vB 3.0.8, intending adding 4images soon, i have it installed simply not looking forward to the job of joining to the forums :ermm:

This should probably go in forum commenting.. Either way nice flash site. However I do remember seeing the same layout on a vb.org member's website.

You are correct Dean...a template available that runs under the SwishMax program...so no hijacking. Nice work Alpha!

PROBLEMS
SEO is poor when using flash. I highly recommed using a hybrid html/flash site.
Images are of poor quality. (Pixelization is visible on almost all of them).
Main page and forum doesn't match in colors or design.
Stick with a navigation that is common and you are one step closer to a successful site.

The flash is poorly made.

1. text is unreadable (poor font-size and contrast between it and background)
2. flash loader is done poorly -- if the required files have been loaded it does not need to be 'preloaded' again

All good points Princeton...many of the reason's I chose not to use it as a frontpage.

I stopped 'endorsing flash' as I learned more about usability, accessibility, and seo.

I was a Flashkit.com moderator for 2 years (about 5-7 years ago).
It was Flashkit.com who introduced me to vBulletin. (thank you!!)

Flash should be used for applications OR to enhance/show information in a more usable manner (eg. image portfolio, 360 view of an object, etc)
In other words, it should be used to strengthen the message you are trying to send-not to replace.

NOTE: There are some search engines who can index flash file contents (text/urls). However, that number is limited. LOL I am not trying to convince you to drop flash; I am just providing my point of view.

After waiting for the flash to load, I clicked on the forums registration button and FF blocked it as a pop up. After unblocking your site, I had to get to your forums threw the registration button. Not a very good experience in my book. Maybe add a separate link to the forums listing and not just to register. :)
