What arcade? Some questions

OK wanna ask some of you a question .. I currently have ibproarcade installed on VB3.07, but have been lookin at the other V3 arcade hack which seems to have a lot more mods and stuff... So a few questions
  • Which would you say is better?
  • I have IBpro charging ucash for playing games, can I get it to give users money for a top score?
  • Whats the likelyhood of the original arcade being ported to 3.5? ie. is the coder still about
  • If I changed, how easy could I move the scores from IBPRO to V3Arcade?

Any other info would be appreciated too LOL ... :)

IbPro arcade is nice and has alot of nice features.

I use v3arcade and it has a nice challenging system, ranking/high score system, and it's an overall nice hack. It also has PLENTY of games available.

I don't know to much about IbPro, however, i am quite satisfied with v3arcade.

v3 if I am not mistaken is actively porting to 3.5 ( and has already been ) ipbproarcade has actually been removed from vb.org for having illegal IPB files.

guess that kinda answers a lot ....... Other question actually whilst I`m on it ... will all the games I have on ibpro work on V3?

Gio~Logist 08-02-2005 08:53 PM

no, but v3 has plenty that are nice and easy to install

bigcurt 08-02-2005 09:04 PM

Well actually I think alot will work for v3..it should its the same swf format..

I think that v3 arcade and ibproarcade games are different even tho theyre both swf files, because at the end of the game, the high score is transfered to the scoring system. I don't know the details of all that, but I do believe theyre different.

Can you please provide a link to where this was officially said? I think I've missed it and would like to find out what was illegal.

Thank you.

The ibProArcade zip contains complete files of IPB (v1.3 I think)..

This is against their license agreement:
"(You may not) distribute individual copies of files, libraries, or other programming material in the Software package"

Exactly what OBK said..if you would like to check in more detail checkout the HOTM thread for july :).

The files where removed because the zip file included files from ipb 1.3, upon talking to IPS via email they told us the user was not allowed to do so, so the files where removed.

It was done in the best intrest of this site and its members, this is also why we left the threads in the public forums, lots of people use the modification and we want them to be able to get support. :)

That has nothing to do with it.. You would have to edi tthe .fl file in orde rto add the necessary codes tot hat a game is compatible with vb3 or IBpro.... and i am pretty much sure that the codes arent exactly the same...

Or you could just hack v3arcade to accept proarcade games and code a switch that you could set while adding a game ;)

The last thing I saw was John was going to port v3, but had not done so as yet. The v3Arcade site was taken down because of all the illegal games that were popping up, and user's refusal to remove them.

As for ibProArcade, I had it loaded briefly, and was somewhat disgusted with the lack of support and attitude from the support staff. The mod was removed from our site, and we'll wait patiently for the v3 port.

soniceffect 08-06-2005 07:33 PM

OK how exactly would I get v3 arcade to use IBpro games as opposed to the V3 arcade games? And where would I find v3 arcade games?

Neutral Singh 08-07-2005 01:46 AM

Somebody said that v3arcade is already working for vB35?? Can i have link to mod please. I have been waiting for it since the launch of vB35 :(... Please John do something about it quickly.

Cheers.

i've been away for too long. does v3 arcade finally has the tournament function? i've been waiting for that ever since ibpro came out.
