User Optional Censorship
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=63875
Basically requesting this for 3.5 as it was heavily used on my board and missed by my members :) |
ditto...great hack, one that can even be tweaked to censor smilies :D
|
bump :)
|
:)...
|
There's one out that will allow you to censor by forum, will that work? ;)
|
much preferred to be user selected....some of the forum members like the use of specific smilies :D
|
Maybe if you use the preg replace like the /me code, but do it in global start?
Problem with that is you'd have to be VERY picky about what you censor =/ or you'd interfere with http links and such like the /me hack is having probs with. Not sure how else to do it without it going into the post cache as censored or not. |

It already exists for 3.0.x but it looks like the Author isnt active anymore... I really need this :( |
How about using a profile field?
|
How so?
I just really have grown fond of useing the replacement variable way because it does this for all posts regardless of whether they are cahced or not. Seems I have read the profile field way does not work with cached posts. Well after alot of work I have finally managed to port the 3.0.x version to 3.5 as a code hack... Can't release it though since the original author is not around to give me permission to atleast that is how I understand it correct? |
o that is awesome! great job :)
have you tried emailing and PMing them? |

There is one small bug I can not figure out but I am sure someone can. It is nothing that will keep it from working however. I can send you something by the end of the week |
What's the bug your having?
|
awesome...thanks for the update :D
|
anyone? ;)
|
Haven't heard from Brent on what bug he has or I'd try to help :)
|
Sorry I missed this, what I was doing in the Release Canidates is not even working now in Gold so I am lost.
If you want to help we can look at the code together cause this is an pretty important hack for me. Do you have aim by chance? |
Brent, I was the ORIGINAL author of this hack back on 2.2 (3.0 author gave me credit in his. I changed my username since then)
Anyway, I am fine with you releasing it public if you want. I'm coding it right now personally for 3.5 but if you have it done already that's even better. :) |
Brent? 007? anyone?
updates? |
still nothing? I've got the forum selectable one going, but apparrently a few users insist on cursing regardless...lol
thanks for any updates. |
When do you plan to release this?
|
Anymore updates on this mod? :nervous:
Justin. |
What's up with this mod? Is it still in the works?
I'd find it really useful as some of my users don't want the censorship turned on and others do. |
I'm sure I made one for 3.5 a while back for testing off-line, I'll look though my files and release it after work tomorrow.
|
any updates?
tkx ;) |
Any Updates?
|
Sorry I don't get notifications for this anymore. I do not use this anymore I do however use this method in allowing optional censorship on my forum: http://www.adminfusion.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3472

Can someone provide a little more detail on how this works ? Or maybe implement this another way ? Doug |
bump..
the replacement variable thing works.. but words such as "tit" can't be censored because it replaces "title" in the coding of the website and screws everything up. |
I would really like to see a plugin for 3.6x that does this.
