Description
This Hack allows you to split Forumhome into several Pages.
The amount of Forums per Page can be defined in ACP / vBulletion Options / vBulletin Options / Forums Home Page Options
Please note: A Top-Level Forum will always be displayed on one page with all its subforums, even if it exceeds the Limit.

Why do People always ask for Screenshots when there is (always) nothing to be shown?
Imagine a new Setting in ACP / vBulletin Options / vBulletin Options / Forums Home Page Options and Page Navigation Links (like those on Sotthread or Forumdisplay) on bottom of Forumhome (below View Forum Leaders) - Screenshot done.

kirby, i was going to register at your forums. are those condoms? anyhow, i don't know german, so i can't participate in your domain. anyhow, you should do a hack that can translate everything into english!!

There's nothing to shoot. It looks like forumhome, but not all the forums are listed. If you click a link, you see forumhome again with another set of forums listed.

I have had this code running on my sites since 3.0 beta ;) I just never made it public. Im still trying to decide if I will add it back in 3.5 :-/.

There is not much to see ...
Imagine the Page Navigation Control (the same one that is on Forumdisplay, Showthread, etc.) below the Forum Listing on Forum Home - that's it.

Il n'y a pas beaucoup à voir... Imaginez la commande de navigation de page (la même qui est sur Forumdisplay, Showthread, etc...) au-dessous de la liste de forum sur le forum à la maison qu'il.

Erm ... this Hack isn't installed on my Board (which is still runing 3.0) and probably won't ever be installed as I don't need this.
I just liked to do it as a Proof-of-Concept :)

So, do I understand this correctly:

Maybe I have a Chess Community Board, and some chess clubs ask me to get their own Subforum. I can now open a subforum which will not be shown on forumhome, but is yet part of the main forum and can be reached by a Link such as "Participating subforums: xxx - yyy - zzz" below the list of all forums (or somewhere else).

Hey, this could be extremely usefulfor me! I think I will have to rebew my vB subscription to get v3.5. ;)

Installed this but no matter how many forums i set to display per page the first page never has any forums displayed :confused:

Thank you for your hack it permits a faster display indeed and it is more pleasant for the user.

Is there a small problem of display of the pages and the number of forums displayed?

Seems like this is paginating incorrectly. If you have 20 forums and you have set max forums per page to 5,

page 1 should show 1-5
page 2 should show 6-10
page 3 should show 11-15
page 4 should show 16 -20

However, this is what happens:
page 1 shows 1-5
page 2 shows 2-6
page 3 shows 3-7 etc.

Seems like you are incrementing by 1 instead of the max forums per page. Or am I missing something?

Despite the simple fact of implementing a plug-in, not everyone is tech savvy enough to envisage what this page will look like. People are at different levels of awareness. Personally I think screen shots are useful, especially when it will change the look of your forums.

Just a thought.

hate to dig up and old thread but is ther a way to set how many on each page? like say 3 on page one 1 on page 2 ect.

Just go your your Admincp -> VB Settings -> Forum Home Options -> Last setting.

Andreas, probably a bit late as this hack is pretty old but I'm wondering; could you supply me with a little modified version of this product that allows you to choose after what category you want to split the pages? Would be very appreciated since right now it's splitting the pages at the wrong place sometimes because of a bloghack I got installed.

I figured more than two pages was too much for most people to surf so I set the Max Forums per Page to 14 which gave me more than enough room and only two pages?The members like this a lot but I would like to know what Amy did to make her pages in the nav bar instead of the current location.

I added links to the navbar template the same as any other link.

Can you choose which forums you want this to work on? for example if I have a forum called Facts and currently a bunce of forums under that can I just have this mod create the sub-forums for the Facts forums only or does this hack force to do all the forums?

It's not allowed to make your VB install look like multiple ones instead of one; ofcourse you can simply link two domains to the same site, theres no problem in that.

If I 3 Domains to use could I also 3 VB licenses would buy ;)
