Looking for something....
Well I'm part of a guild on a video game I play and they are wanting me to create a website as they know I have knowledge of running forums and a somewhat kind of website. So we aren't able to afford vBulletin (well not at the moment at least) and we need some kind of forum system. Any suggestions? (If you say phpBB I shall hunt ye down and kill you.) We are looking for free ones so no pay ones please.

phpBB. :p

/me hunts Tony down......

It ain't so bad. For a free forum software, it's decent.

Simple Machines Forum is ok http://www.simplemachines.org/

I liked phpBB for years. I have no complaints about it other than I outgrew it and needed subcategories. It was difficult upgrading when you had many hacks.
I don't think there is anything better for the price. The phpBB community is excellent. There is also www.phpBBhacks.com |

you want to stay php based? there is phpNuke, http://www.yabbforum.com/ just google forum software you will get alot of them

I'd rather not google search, I'm looking for suggestions from the people here as I can trust some people here.
/me glares at Tony |
Well you must also understand that we are a board supporting vBulletin. We can not go advise on the use of a competitor.
