Willing to take over my board for me??

Not 100% sure whether this belongs here or not but I'm pretty desparate :ermm:

I'm posting this as I've become less and less active on my site and would like to offer anyone the taking over of the site. The person MUST have had lots of PHP/MYSQL experience. No this is not a selling offer, I just really do not wish to close my site as it has LOTS of potential.

It has an full RPG system with character customization, pets system, unique fan fiction archive, unique gallery, and more...

Even though I'm handing development over, I would still like to be a big part of the site (still administration) and maybe some development. I created the site pretty much years ago and would love to watch it continue to grow with new direction but where it goes is up to you.

If you are interested, please give me details of your PHP/MYSQL experience and why you're interested in an RPG related site.

Well, I actually love RPG sites and am in the process of opening a WoW website, but I do not know if I am experienced as you will need/want.

Well actually although I'd love to take your site over, I can't. I'm AFusion from Tokyo-Nights and we've got a huge renevation coming ourselves so all my time goes to that. Just wanted to say it's a cool site and I hope you find someone worthy ;)

I'm willing to be an active administrator for development of the community, but I don't know about taking over an entire board that size without any help. Have you thought of having more then one admin, due to it's large size?

It isn't really that large compared to some communites I've seen with a lone admin :)

Well this site requires alot of time coding-wise, it's very well modified. I'd feel more secure in administrating this forum if I had a partner to share the experience with, and I think the members of the community would too. But hey, that's just me :)

My PHP and MySQL experience pretty much speaks for itself - I've been customising and altering vBulletin months before I even owned my own board :)

I have always been interested in RPG sites, but never created my own due to the enormous amount that already exist - Starting from new in the RPG field is difficult and not many communities make it - Taking hold of an established community would be something I would enjoy and hopefully it would prosper even more from an enthused new viewpoint :)

It would be even better with more administrators I would think but the backend is extremely confusing (and embarrassingly messy) if you don't know code and how it works, which is why I'm a bit nervous about handing it in completely. Many hacks are severely hacked into (Especially the RPG System where the entire user table of the RPG is merged with the user table of vbulletin)

I think what I'm going to do is choose a person, and if that person allows, other administrators. I will still pay for hosting and whatnot and other expenses but I'll just stay away from any major changes the administrator(s) decide to do but still put in my input.

If I had a choice, I really wouldn't stop developing but college + first time engineering major scares me (I'm leaving in a month) and that should come first but I do NOT want to give this site up completely. Whichiever, I think handling a board like this would be great experience for any administrator and if it continues to grow, great things ahead for all who put in their time.

I'm probably rambling now but if there is a solution, I'd like to hear it. I just don't want to hand my site on a platter and have that person not put in as much as I would like. Profit was not my #1 drive and I hope it isn't the drive for whoever will continue to run it ^^; Maybe a partnership?? Please tell me your ideas and what you're will to do if I don't give it completely over but let you into everything and develope such a site.

By the way, I've read all your PMs :) And I'm relieved for the most part that this will be settle d nicely.

I've decided really to stick with the partnership idea. If anyone would like to retract their offer due to this, it's okay and I understand. I'm extremely attached to this site so I doubt I'll be able to give it over completely

Thats because all of the adverts on the front page of bostonlove.org and you have to scroll to the right to see all of the page in firefox.

Like AFusion mentioned earlier, I'm also from Tokyo-Nights (founder/owner). Our forum, which began in Feb. 2004, has well over 13,000 members since its creation. While the amount of members aren't a true indication of a board's success, we've strived to create one of the nicest j-entertainment sites you can find. One of the main focuses of the site is jpop (japanese pop), but we do have other sections which appeal to anime fans and other asian artists.

After running such a site, I'd like to perhaps help you out with yours. I do like the varied features and the fact that you were able to create all by yourself, so if you do need a helping hand and don't mind working with someone who runs a massive site of his own, then feel free to contact me back or leave a message here ;)

I am extremely interested. I own my own computer business, and specialize in PHP and MySQL. I have used this forum software for a few years, and can show you some of my custom forums already.

For RPG experience, I grew up with Car Wars haha to D&D and now all the online ones. Played EQ and am on EQ2, plus my roommate here is head of one of the top guilds on WoW.

I was completely taken back by all the interest shown on this thread and in my PM box. Thank you all for being so willing to help me out.

The offer has been filled. What has been planned is more of team based administration for Miyechi instead of my lone admin but I will still be a part of the site's adminsitration and development but my work load will hopefully decrease. I encourage you guys to check out the site to find out what exactly happened ;)

As the site grows bigger, I hope that we'll be able to fill in more positions with talented coders and admins and I'll be needing more help later on ^^; Thank you again!!
