uCash 1.1.1
Well, here's half of the uCS combination - a standalone release of uCash for vB 3.5.
uCash 1.1.1 for vBulletin 3.5 RC1 is out. This will only work on 3.5.0 RC1 or above. It now has 12 plugins and no file edits. See readme_ucash.txt in the attached file. uCash 1.1.1 uses the Product Manager and includes a new feature that gives all the users of a usergroup (usergroup setting) x points every y amount of time (via cron). Also included is a "Give Points In Mass" feature inside the uCash Manager. Screenshots of this have been shown at area51.geekydesigns.com, and it makes it into uCash 1.1.0. A screenshot of that feature is attached. uCash 1.1.1 needs no file edits and 2 template edits. It uses 12 plugins. Enjoy this release. Read readme.txt for instructions on installing. Click install if you install this hack. :) Support will be given in the uCash & uShop support forum - just make sure you mention that you are using uCash 1.1.1 for vB 3.5. :) If you are using vB 3.5 Beta 1 - 4 or are having trouble with 1.1.1, see post #3 for uCash 1.1.0. (Psst, uShop will come soon.) |
Yay, can't wait till we see uShop :)
|
If you've downloaded it before now, please redownload it and use the new admincp/ucash_admin.php. It looks like I didn't test the give points in mass feature well enough.
[high]uCash 1.1.0[/high] This is the first uCash release for vB 3.5 and supports the vB 3.5 Betas. If you haven't upgraded to vB 3.5 RC1 or better yet, use this version. |

Working fine. FYI, something to consider... With this new addition of "Per Character" points, you may want to try and integrate it with the AJAX system and editing.
Example: User posts a topic. Then edits the topic within the timeframe allowed. The points should be tabulated after an edit, to add/subtract the amount of the point change in the difference between the initial post and the edit. I'm not quite sure how you would do this, but it would be something to consider. |
I actually haven't considered it, since I can't think of an easy way to do this. It's a nice suggestion though.

I love you, and I want to have your babies. :)

I'm amazed that I got everything right the first time. This rarely ever happens. :D

Other than that, perfection. |
Well, that is just the installer. Oh well, it was mostly a rush job on porting the HIS over and adding the plugin step. ;)
I'll probably fix that tommorow and then upgrade Area51 and try getting uShop 1.0.0 ported. I'll probably not add as many features as planned in 1.0.0 and follow it up with a 1.1.0 or 1.2.0 or something later. It's been too long anyways. ;) And hopefully hooks have been added to the admincp in beta 3 so I don't need to hack the files at all. |
I guess I didn't get _everything_ right... I forgot the change the version number in ucash_admin.php.
|
very nice, now I can upgrade my board to 3.5.
but can't I upgrade uCash from vb3.0x ? |
Yes, it detects you are using uCash 1.0.0 (from uCS 0.93 or 0.95) and changes the database fields and setting varnames appropriately.
uShop will probably be out in some form in a few weeks. |
Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the following text...
"For the old method of giving points for points, click here." be changed to... "For the old method of giving points for posts, click here." ? |
Yeah, looks like I made a typo there. ;)
|
EDIT: Oops. My bad. I made a typo. Ignore this please.
|
So can I install this with VB 3.0.7???
|
Since this is a 3.5 modification, you can not install it on 3.0.x.
There is however also a version for 3.0.x, check the appropriate forum for that. |
any ETA for the release of UShop, Link ?

Well, no one is helping me test it. The uShop there was already unstable code, and it is made even more buggy by the changes in 3.5.0.

me too, I sent you a PM Link
|
Alright, I get 3 PMs in 3 minutes. Maybe I should update my install files and see how much luck other people have with it. :p
Still not everything is re-implemented, but it should work on a test board. A big red flashing disclaimer should work, though. |
This is just for uCash or uShop as well? I'm using both on 3.0x, and am anxiously awaiting both for 3.5. :) Like I said, it's our test bed and I'll slap anything on it to test.

Tanks I want this hack
can you add option that user's can transfer points between other user's? |
Ohhhh nice! I am upgrading to 3.5 soon so this will be awesome to have right away. Any word on uShop yet? It's been a few weeks since you said "a few weeks.." I can't wait much longer!! :)
|
If I get around to do it, I'll probably release an ultra-alpha "DO NOT UPGRADE TO THIS" version in a few days or something similar. I need to get it tested as well as a few more things completed.
|
this seems to work with beta 4....
|
happy happy joy joy

Sovereign clicks [Install]. Want to have users pay uCash for arcade, it will encourage posting!

uCash 1.1.1 Release Candidate 1 for vBulletin 3.5 RC1 ("This release has a lot of 1's") is out. This will only work on 3.5.0 RC1 or above. It now has 12 plugins and only 1 file edit. See readme_ucash.txt in the attached file (uCash_1.1.1_Release_Candidate_1_for_vB3.5_RC1_[2005-07-29].zip).
uCash 1.1.1 uses the Product Manager and includes a new feature that gives all the users of a usergroup (usergroup setting) x points every y amount of time (via cron). If uShop 1.0.0 for vB 3.5.0 isn't out in some form by August 1st, I give you my permission to punch me in the face until it is released. ;) |

Question on the upgrade. Were there any changes to the file edit? We should be able to just uninstall the older version, upload the new files and load the "product" with no further action, correct? |
Read readme_ucash.txt. The file upgrade/ucash_1.1.0.txt contains all necessary changes.
