you made it ugly

just wanted to say, what you done to the nav bar seems really OTT to me and losing the bottom of the cat bit just sucks, i liked that :(

imported_kyk0 03-03-2004 01:10 PM

I just really dislike the width.

Oblivion Knight 03-03-2004 01:13 PM

Each to their own I suppose.. I like the new style personally.

tomp 03-03-2004 01:54 PM

me 2

Ryan Ashbrook 03-03-2004 05:51 PM

I like it. It inspires me to do something similar for my site.

Not totally similar, of course.

Dan 03-03-2004 10:15 PM

it looks ok to me :D

RixiuS 03-03-2004 10:16 PM

I think they should just leave vBulletin Default style as an option, for those of us who prefer it. :)

Tony G 03-04-2004 03:12 AM

Image Links > Text Links. It's how the old style was, and looks just as good on the new style.

SaintDog 03-04-2004 03:54 AM

I personally see no problem with it, everything is not going to look 100% like the vB2 version.

CannonFodder 03-04-2004 11:19 PM

i just dont like the percentage for the width...

assassingod 03-05-2004 05:26 AM

I like it:)

It's probably to make sure it fits on all resolutions?

CannonFodder 03-05-2004 09:53 AM

and it also makes it look incrediblyy stupid on higher resolutions.

imported_kyk0 03-05-2004 10:25 AM

And low ones.

Sebastian 03-05-2004 04:47 PM

i really dislike the entire theme,... no offence, it looks like my girl friends website..

text is hard to read, too small. basically hard to see things in general.. awful style... it would be nice to have a default templates to choose from just like on vbulletin.org/com.

Tony G 03-05-2004 09:25 PM

Hmm, I find it hard to see why so many don't like it. It looks 90% like our vB2 style which was a big factor is vBT's fame. Is the text hard to read because it's in a smaller font? I personally can read it fine. What resolution are you using?

CannonFodder 03-05-2004 09:38 PM

usually 1600 x 1200, but alot of the time, like when i'm designing something, i'm using 1920 x 1440. lots of empty space up and after 1280 x 1024

-.- Key to fame? I loved the Bluesaint style the best. :D

Tony G 03-06-2004 08:08 AM

And everyone said they wanted the old style back when that was put into place. :p

Yes a lot of the old regulars wanted this style back in place... maybe someone can create an alternate style for people to use that don't like this one?

AWS 03-06-2004 07:14 PM

Text is too small. Too much wasted, white, space everywhere.
All in all this style is terrible. I could deal with it if it wasn't so hard to read the posts.
As someone else said it looks like a girls site.

vbmechanic 03-07-2004 12:37 AM

What's wrong with girls? I like girls.

Maybe Saintdog is a girl :o

I don't mind the new top nav.. but I don't see why "User CP" has more space around it than the other buttons. Cheers on the redesign..

Tony G 03-07-2004 01:06 AM

I think they left the spaces out of the <if> tag for user CP button. Brad should fix that up, because register appears if you're not logged in.

Michael2 03-07-2004 04:59 AM

I think it looks awesome. I agree though, the text is too small and I usually like smaller text.

vbulletin has improved. vbulletintemplates.com not...

i don't see why you think this style is great only because it was great a year or more ago. :(

Sebastian 03-13-2004 01:30 AM

well i am on 1184 resolution and there is just too much white. text is way too small for forum. i am not blind but why strain the eyes anymore than you have to.

postbits are huge and just a lot of spacing taking up. the orginal purple vb style is ugly, but its easy on the eyes, and i'll take it anyday over this.

Zachery 03-13-2004 09:53 AM

Personally i like the style before brad upgraded....

MindTrix 03-13-2004 10:13 AM

Like in another post i made here, This style is nice, but it is too christmasy :) Need more style choices, Dont see why not if this is a template/style side of vB :)

Zachery 03-15-2004 07:45 AM

I think mine with the alternating postbits should come back!

Ive been toying with another style, but nothing final atm :)

imported_skorzguy 03-18-2004 03:57 PM

The layout is not bad but it would be nicer if the width was greater :p

Brad 03-18-2004 07:40 PM

I will increase the text sizes, personally im on a big resolution and do not see to much white space, im a fan of some white space, I don't like the layout to look busy.

Gold is coming soon, I will be adding the default vBulletin 3 styles when we upgrade so the ones that do not like the light blue style will have something to choose from.

At any rate this style is far from finished, we will be developing it over time. We might add some more custom styles to the board but im not sure when yet. The gold release will finally give us a stable vB 3 code base (did you know we have been running beta software here for over a year now? ). So ill be looking forward to developing some cool stuff off of that.

These smilies have got to go, I hope saintdog dose not get to mad ;)

Tony G 03-19-2004 07:14 AM

The enlarged text makes a very big difference. :)

imported_FLOW FUSION 03-19-2004 12:40 PM

I agree

imported_sebastian406 03-23-2004 07:29 PM

I really think this style is horrible. The whole idea of simplicity didn't work. The colors don't work, and the style doesn't flow at all.
