Moderator Dropdown Pro
What does this mod do?
Instead of the sometimes irritating and plain listing of moderators this will create a very handy select box of all the moderators of a forum, and when you select a moderator it forwards you to their profile or you can just select 'Moderators' and it will bring you to the showgroups page. What does this mod involve doing? As per the name of this site, this is a purely template written hack that requires NO editing of files, so it is customizable at your will! Here is a list of actions needed to install this mod: Templates to edit: 3 Files to upload: 2 Other mod information? Current version: 1.1 Install Time: 2 minutes Difficulty level: Easy Efficiency level: High Version Changes 3-26-04 - Version 1.1 - Fixed up code for level 2 forums - Added support for "Moderators" phrase I have attached a screenshot of an example of this mod. Without further delay, enjoy! PLEASE CLICK HERE IF YOU LIKE THIS MOD! :) |
Nice mod, I've always been a favourite of this one for communities who insist on keeping a mod column on the forumhome. :)
|
Ive found it to be a bit tacky over the years but it's just one of them legacy mod's, some hate it, some love it.
Good job porting it non-the-less :) |
I prefer it gone from the forumhome, but it's better then having the names displayed like they do in vB default.
|
Just installed. I'll use it later though when my forums actually have members and moderators. ^_^

:P lord don't think there's a 'install' at vBT ;)
|
Sure there is, look at the top of this page ;)
|
Heh I didn't see it. :p
*installed* |
nice job
thanks  |
Installed it exactly as the directions say but it's not working. I'll have to look into it some more, but I'm not quite sure what's going on with it.
|
What exactly isn't working?
|
Just installed, very smooth mod. Thanks! :)
The only thing I changed (and would recommend to change) is, instead of using "Moderators" hard coded in the "forumhome_forumbit_level2_post"-template, you should use "$vbphrase[moderators]". It is there already, why not taking advantage of it. ;) |
Nice mod, but for me its only working on the mainpage.
In a subforum this causes a strange error showing up some forums in the old way and the other with the mod. see attachment. ANY IDEA? |

Thanks man, this is working fine!
|
I found a little bug in this mod. If i use dhtml dropdown menus, and a dropdown menu happns to go over the moderator dropdown menu, the moderator dropdown menu dissapears.
|
Excuse me I can't find the files I have to modify to install this hack  :(
Can someone help me please :) |
I installed this on VB3 gold, and this was the error that surfaced:
Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_STRING' or `T_VARIABLE' or `T_NUM_STRING' in /home2/hcenter/public_html/includes/functions_forumlist.php(435) : eval()'d code on line 25 Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_STRING' or `T_VARIABLE' or `T_NUM_STRING' in /home2/hcenter/public_html/includes/functions_forumlist.php(435) : eval()'d code on line 25 Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_STRING' or `T_VARIABLE' or `T_NUM_STRING' in /home2/hcenter/public_html/includes/functions_forumlist.php(435) : eval()'d code on line 25 Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_STRING' or `T_VARIABLE' or `T_NUM_STRING' in /home2/hcenter/public_html/includes/functions_forumlist.php(435) : eval()'d code on line 25 How can this be corrected? |
It works just fine on version 3.0.1, but I was wondering if is it possible to reduce the width of the drop down menu....

|

|
How do I get rid of the image that goes with it, I cant seem to find the code for it
|
Can you make the moderator appear below the forum's Description like in IPB? I tried but got zero.
|
Yea I really dont like drop down menus all that much, but thanks for the contrib.
|
/me clicks "install"
however before i use it i was wondering if there would be a way to shorten the box a bit? it seems it could fit well with my forum if only it was a bit shorter in length. |
does this work with 307?
|
Yes it works in 3.0.7 Installed it and it works great.

another thing: i would like also to see this a bit resized any idea how to do that? thank you :) |
Installed 3.07. Works Great.
Took out the team.gif from level 1 post and level 2 post templates to save width space for older screen users. Works good. |
This seems to work great with just vBulletin, but what if you also have vBPortal installed, I noticed in the "headlineincluded" you get this java:
<script type="text/javascript" src="$vbpoptions[bbdir]/clientscript/vbulletin_global.js"></script> <if condition="$vboptions['usepopups']"><script type="text/javascript" src="$vbpoptions[bbdir]/clientscript/vbulletin_menu.js"></script></if> How would you modify this to work with this program... Thanks guys... |
very nice mod, looks very good
|
actually, some of my memebrs have had a problem with this hack...it seems that the moderators dont show up in the box...any help?
