Collaboration with French forum

Hello all,

I don't know where I must post this message, so excuse me if it's not the good forum.

I'm Albibak, webmaster of www.vbulletin-france.com, who as you suspect it, is a french vbulletin forum, for french community.

I would like to know too, if the site www.vbulletintemplates.com, would wish a collaboration with my site.

As you can see it's a serious forum, with a lot of members, but we decide to base it now on template modification, vb french style diffusion ...

Thanks to vote, and explain your choice about if it's a good idea or not.

Thanks
Albibak

P.S : If some members want to help me, and permit me to translate and diffuse their template modification, mp me, thankx

SaintDog 08-13-2003 02:54 PM

Not sure what you mean by collaboration, if you would care to explain a bit more, I would place my vote :).

(could just be that I am very tired as well, not slept in ~48 hours)

albibak 08-13-2003 03:09 PM

Sorry.

In fact, I propose to become your counterpart but in french. So we can do the same things, and share our work.
You permit to translate and diffuse your template modifications, style an other and you do the same things with mine.

we can progress together

I don't know if it is clear

Albibak

sabret00the 08-13-2003 03:27 PM

it seems a better idea than a french hack template, could be useful

You are free to translate the template modification you see that are mine, though you will need to ask others before moving them over as I cannot speak for everyone else.

As for the style you see here, you are free to purchase it over at vBTDesign.com, though it will not be given out freely, sorry.

sabret00the 08-13-2003 04:39 PM

ok from how i understand it, albibak is asking to become the official vbt french language mirror thus once mod authors post their hacks on here, they would more of less automatically be translated and put up on his site (bypassing the authors permission request having already had yours)

albibak 08-13-2003 04:42 PM

Thanks sabret00the, it's what I wanted to say

SaintDog 08-13-2003 07:20 PM

As above, you have my permission to translate my template modifications, though not the style being used here unless it is paid for.

If you are looking to translate other modifications here at vBT that are not of my own, you will need to request permission as I cannot speak for everyone :).

it is a misunderstanding, because two forums exist :
www.vbulletin-fr.com
www.vbulletin-france.com

It's not the same

Zachery 08-13-2003 10:57 PM

meh, as long as you get permission i dont care

albibak 08-13-2003 11:04 PM

All hacks we distribut is according with the autor.
Their name are credit in the post.

We respect the rules

albibak 08-13-2003 11:46 PM

Thanks for your permission Saintdog. Could it be possible to send PM to obtain permission from others ? (only one per person)

In fact, many persons think www.vbulletin-fr.com and www.vbulletin-france.com are the same website but they are not. vbulletin-france has been re-opened recently, and we're trying to obtain help from US vBulletin communities. We are a trustworthy young community and respect copyright laws.

Of course , any work wich will be traduced won't suffer any modification, except for the language.

Many thanks
Albibak

albibak, You are currently showing up as unlicensed. To be able to download modifications and/or receive support here at vBulletintemplates.com, please click here (vB-germany users click here) and enter your email address, to show us that you are licensed.

You will need to use the customer number and password (which are in the email you got when you paid for your license) to access that page. Please note that your email is case sensitive.

Thank you.

Thx Brad, I change my mail because I have two licenses and I forgot to put the real mail on this one.
The problem is solved.

albibak 08-14-2003 08:02 AM

nagasadow 08-14-2003 01:17 PM

Hello,

I work with Albibak and I'd like to thank every person who allow us to traduce his work. This will be very interresting for our community ;)

Brad 08-19-2003 09:24 AM

As much as I like the idea of hacks and template modifications begin translated for others to use I can not allow anything I have released here, or at vBulletin.org to be translated.

I do not like the idea of un-licensed users begin able to download my modifications and hacks freely from un-offical vBulletin sites. I hope others keep this in mind when they are asked if their modifications can be translated.

Well, we need a script that do not give access to the hacks sections or traductions if the user isn't licensed. Once we'll equip our forum with this, will you agree to give us a permission ? Is it important for you, our community isn't official ?

thanks

Zachery 08-20-2003 08:57 PM

i think that would mean that you would become offcially affialated with vbulletin/jelsoft

Yes it is important to me,

I know it is not harm ment but any un-offical community always runs the risk of providing support to people running warez version's of the software.

Granted vBt ran for along time without checking if a user was un-licensed, and we did provide support and modifications free for some time. It was only because the system we had in place was to buggy under vB v2 for some reason. But it has been running flawlessly scence the upgrade to v3.

I wish you guys the best tho, and hope your community dose well.
